Unfortunately, it has been brought to my attention that a lot of people who use our icons are not crediting us. This makes us very sad because one of the main points of crediting the icon maker AND the community is to ADVERTISE FOR US without being obtrusive. What I mean by that is when someone sees a really cute icon that you have, naturally they'll go to your icon page and look at the rest of them. When they see where you've gotten your icons from, they'll follow the natural linky-flow to our community here at cutecute_icons.

It's a way for us to get our community noticed and to get more members.

We don't want to have closed membership or to have this community be friends-only, but if this trend of not crediting continues, that may be our only option.

Understandably, some of you just might be new to the LJ scene and aren't familiar with LJ-tags. That's ok, too. Just so long as you take what I'm about to show you and quickly administer it to the icons in which you have of ours.

This is how you should always credit for icons:

The code is the same for both users and communities. It's not too hard, guys. Please do this for us. We'll appreciate it very much.

I didn't want to get down and dirty, but if we find you not crediting us, we WILL ban you. We will probably warn you first, but if nothing is done about it, it might be our only option. Please, please, please don't make this happen, because we love making icons for you. We only ask this in turn... credit us.

i just wanted to tell everyone that cutecute_icons has recently crept over the 100 member status! it's wonderful news to me and i didn't think that my community would do anything except flop underneath me when i made it... and i certainly thought i'd be the only one posting. but i was wrong! i hope the community keeps growing and we keep getting awesome icon makers like we have now.
