| What is a customer? A customer is a person who comes into contact with your business (sometimes falsely for the purpose of harassment or theft). They will engage with you by buying or considering buying your products or services. Whether they actually purchase something or not, someone who looks at or inquires about your services or products is a customer. Someone who has an established customer relationship with your business is still a customer even when they're not buying anything during your interaction with them. If you are serving them in a customer service situation, then the people you assist are customers even when you're a volunteer or work in public service. Job seekers are not customers, they're job seekers. People who are trying to sell you something are not customers, they're sales people or vendors. 'Reporting' those you know is disallowed as the grudge outweighs the suck. If you are unsure if someone is a customer or not, please contact one of the mods before posting and we will be happy to clarify for you. Please ask yourself before posting: Was this a customer service situation, was it annoying, was it big enough to be considered a suck, and most of all, is it worth posting to a community of 25,000 people? A violation of any rule may result in a ban from the community, from one week to permanent, at the discretion of the mod handling the situation. Mods may also impose bans for any other behavior they believe is meant solely to stir up the community. Mods may ask for edits of posts to remove rule-violating material.
