About
Hola! We are a group who share an interest in Cuban food, history, culture and customs. It is our aim to interchange, promote and to perpetuate Cuban Cuisine with the recipes brought to USA by exiles, as part of the Ethnic Heritage of Cuban American descendants.

Cuban food is a combination of the food from Spain and the exotic flavors brought by the slaves from Africa. The food from Spain is composed of seafood, soups, cocidos, rabbit, braised methods of cooking, use of olive oil,Spanish zafran and Pimenton. The paellas, with their rich flavors. Calderetas, finished in the oven, etc. The slaves added exotic ingredients such as quinbombo (okra). Theirs was simple food, it's Cuba's Soul Food. The exiled community residing in the States created yet another class of Cuban food. One that blends in the flavors of the places where the emmigrants settled and also the food created in nova cuisine restaurants using the main Cuban ingredients but in exotic, modern dishes where the root of the Cuban food exists dressed in a modern mixture of ingredients. My Cuban Cuisine site is about all of these foods.
