Ok we're going to try this again! We all love this community but lack of maintainer and sad cosplay lolita layout is a small issue. So tp a;; active members please move to ctonthefrills. I know the layout is lacking purdy pictures but I'm not going to put a major effort layout wise unless it starts going. So join darn it!

You are invited to Mystic Aquarium for an afternoon of frillies and fish. Afterwards, we'll be heading over to Old Mystic Village for some shopping, photos, and food. Sound good? You know you want to come.

Time: Meet at the front gates of the aquarium at 1pm
Cost: Admission to the aquarium is $22 for adults, and $17 for anyone 17 or under. Other costs depend on your own spending.

Yes, its a bit short notice, but I thought it would be nice to go before it got especially cold. Plus it means less crowding at the aquarium! ~~Really, its just because I wanted a meetup before I went away for a little while xP~~

Hey guys,

My name is Steph and I'm a transplanted NYer living in Middletown, CT [I go to Wesleyan University]. I really have a dilemma, or potentially will have one, so I need to work out the kinks first....the NYC lolitas are having a meet up and this city and it's been a while since I've went to one. I was planning on going and leaving the same day, but the morning is fine too. [I have to go to work that afternoon ^^;;]. So I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about going to that meetup and wanted to split cab money at New Haven to go where ever?

Also, I'd be happy to go to one of your meetups if you have one...I've been looking for Wesleyan lolitas, but they are really undercover here.

Yes, I am a Connecticut loli-chan, yes-yes. ^^ It seems that there aren't very many of us, are there?

I was flipping through some posts, and noticed that a lot of you were actually at CTcon 2007? I was too, on Saturday, but in three outfits. First, I was Sailor Jupiter, then, I changed (in the parking garage!) into a blue sundress with white flowers. Then, my Prince Charming bought me a WhitexBlack Body Line coordinate set, which I wore with white and pink cat ears the rest of the day.

Oh, I was carrying a bright purple pokemon bookbag, if that helps. Dunno if this'll ring any bells...

I'm extremely excited that a community like this exists! I have my own Loli Blog outside of LJ, because LJ... doesn't want me to understand it. If you're interested, I'll post the URL.

SO, anyways. My Lolita name is Lavendre, and I live about half an hour outside of Hartford. I wanna recussitate this community, because frankly, and sadly... it's a little dead... *sniff*

If anyone wants to get together on the train for the NYC meetup this Saturday and take a run down to Kinokuniya bookstore before the meetup we'll be riding the MTA train scheduled to arrive at Grand Central at 12:07. (Leaving New Haven's Union Station at 10:22)

Lolita Laser Tag update

So, is the 12th still okay with people? I'm thinking of calling Smiles tomorrow and warning them that we'll have a group coming, maybe make a reservation if I have to. I know a couple of people weren't sure if they would come, but if this could be the final RSVP post so I can give them an estimate that'd be awesome :D

What time would be best for everyone? I've only ever played at night, so I was thinking in the evening, but maybe if we played at, say, 4 or 5 we could all go out to dinner or something afterwards.

About transportation - the only time I've ever driven to Milford I got really really lost and had to go on 95 for some of it (*has had her license less than a month* >.<), so does anyone know how far Smiles is from the Milford train station? Is it within walking or cab distance?

Also, on a totally unrelated and really random note -- I'm planning an offwhite coordinate for the Tri-State Meetup but I only have black shoes, and I have another friend coming who'll probably borrow those. Does anyone have any white loliable shoes I could borrow for the day? >.<;;; Otherwise I'll have to spend the money that was supposed to be for a new camera on getting shoes express'd here for Saturday >.

I joined ages ago, but then my plans changed to move to Chicago, but then they changed AGAIN. So now I'm back in CT. I lived in Michigan for 10 years, so I don't know anyone around here or anyplace around here. (yet. :D)

I live in Milford, and I'm living with my grandparents right now so I'm really bored. these people are nuts. D: and I can't find a job yet...

so; if anyone's in the area, I'm looking for some loli friends. We could chat over the internet for a while first, then decide from there if meeting would be fun.

Aug 11th Tri-State Meetup

I was wondering if anyone else was going to the tri-state meetup at Bryant Park in NYC (details here) and if they wanted to hitch a ride on the train and then run to Kinokuniya before the meetup together?

I'm hoping to catch the 10:22 train from Union Station in New Haven (anyone else getting on at different stations, we would meet up on the train), it should be getting into Grand Central at 12:07 giving about 2 hours to get to Kinokuniya, shop, and get to the park.

If anyone's worried about getting lost or harrassed, I've been to NY tons of times, twice in lolita, I know my way around and I've never had a problem.

So, I just celebrated my eighteenth birthday (!!), but I was out of the country on the day itself. Which was depressing, but hey. I went to Harajuku and bought myself a birthday present XD.

But I wanted to know if anyone wanted to meet up to help me celebrate it! Since we've discussed it before but only as a "what if," I was thinking the steam train in Essex and then a picnic, since the weather's getting nice again. Weather.com tells me it'll be 73 degrees on Saturday, June 9th, so that's what I'll plan for unless it's a bad day for too many people. The picnic would be pot luck, but nothing too elaborate - some sandwiches, maybe cupcakes or something. I don't live near Essex, but if someone did and could scope out the area, that would be awesome. If not, I can set aside some time to go and check it out next weekend. Or maybe tomorrow, but probably next weekend. Does anyone know if there's a MetroNorth or Amtrack train station or a bus station there?

I was being lazy with posting photos, sorry ^^;

The meetup was fun but not many people showed up. Only my friend Cristin tobiascamery, Stephanie kabe_no_hana, and I dressed lolita. My friend Chaos tagged along in her H.Naoto jacket, and we met up with some "normals" that we knew at the mall too. It was a tiny group, but it was enjoyable. I just hope that more people come next time!!
