I was late getting on the Amber-wagon. I didn't like her, but I did like her. I thought she was snotty, but I liked watching her be mean to people. In the end, I admit publicly that I just love Amber. I love her pretty blonde hair, sweater sets and pearls--who the heck under fifty can pull off pearls? Sigh, she's just awesome. Anyway, I've been on a fanfic hiatus for the past year, so I don't have any fic in her honor; however, I did make a short video and hope that I'm not being too presumptuous by putting it in my first post to this community.

House's Advice to Amber

Info about the video:
Don't let the fuzzy bit at the beginning throw you--the video quality is better throughout. I was inspired by the Alkaline Trio song "Live Young, Die Fast" and decided to do an Amber video with a similar feel to an Alkaline Trio video. It's a bit of a dark/melodramatic tribute to Amber and the advice House might give her at the end of all things.

Swallows and moments!

Amber lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. She was happy. Which was odd since she had just been fired. It might have something to do with the man lying next to her They had met in
the bar the night before - her wanting to get drunk so she could forget about that day, if only for a little while. She never found out why he was there, though she figured that being House's best friend must get to him at some point.
Neither of them had had much to drink before leaving the bar - together. And now here they were. Lying next to each other, feeling happy! In the back of her mind a quote by Aristotle crept up. Something about one swallow or sunny day not making summer and one day or moment of happiness not making someone completely happy.
She thought about this for a moment before turning to look at Wilson. As he awoke, he smiled at her, his eyes still sleepy. In that moment she thought that Aristotle was wrong. She was going to be happy for a very long time!

Somewhere along the line, it had all gone so very wrong. Things weren’t supposed to end up like this, they were supposed to be different, but Amber was dying, House was in a coma, and she knew her life was never going to be the same again.
