Welcome to the first journal/community dedicated to sharing fan fiction based on the CBS television series, CSI - Crime Scene Investigation. All manners of fan fiction discussion are welcome -- plots, setting, character development, case files, writing technique and strategy, challenges, and more.

We're a fairly friendly bunch with a passionate affection for CSI and fan fiction. We hope you'll enjoy our community, and if you decide to share fiction with us, please remember that there are a few guidelines:

[1] Please use the lj-cut tag whenever posting fan fiction longer than 200 words. Make sure all posts to this community are PUBLIC, not friends-only.

[2] Be sure to indicate the story's rating, based on the MPAA system (G, PG, PG-13, etc.) in the header to help members determine if the submission is something inappropriate for his/her own personal philosophy. If you prefer not to rate your story, please tag it "not rated" or NR.

[3] Although not required, members may also wish to include categories to address themes such as violence, language, sexuality, disturbing images,
graphic descriptions, drugs/narcotics, rape, same-sex pairings, and/or mature content.

[4] Always indicate spoiler warnings and episode titles for those members who haven't seen the latest episode.

[5] LiveJournal terms of service prevent us from accepting NC-17 material, but there are several mailing lists as alternatives.

[6] Spell check your story. Don't forget to check it for grammar and word usage.

[7] Use a PLAIN text format that preserves line breaks and single-space your text. Left justify your text (as opposed to right, center, or full justification). We recommend a single blank line between paragraphs or you can use the space bar to create indents.

[8] If there is more than one part, please indicate how many parts there are to the story. If you're not sure yet, indicate that the story is a work in progress (WIP) and mark each chapter as follows: 1/?, 2/?, 3/? and so on.

[9] Oh, yes... CSI and its characters belong to Anthony Zuiker and CBS Broadcasting Company. As such, please include an appropriate disclaimer for the legal eagles at CBS that acknowledges this as well as the fact that you will not profit from the story. :)
