Welcome to the CSI Fanfic Awards

These awards are for all Fanfiction for the three CSI shows: CSI: Crime Scene Investigations, CSI: Miami, and CSI: New York.

Please join/watch the community. I will not be sending out annoucements to all the CSI Communities on Lj. It blogs down everyones f-list and can be annoying to the communities.

As in all award shows there are rules and guidelines to follow.

~Rules and Regulations for Nominating a Fic for the Awards~

- As tempting as it is please find other work than your own to nominate.
- Please don't inundate the awards with your favorite author by placing all their stories in the various categories. Really focus on great stories that fit the category – there are some really well known authors out there that deserve recognition – but there are also some smaller authors that deserve it to.
- Stories that were nominated last year cannot be nominated this year. Please take a look at the previous years nominees 2005, 2006
- If a story was nominated for WIP in past years and is now finished it can be nominated in one of the other categories.
- You can nominate one story for each category
- An author can have more than one story nominated as long as it isn't in the same category (Ex: JaneSmith has a story nominated in Case File and Nick/Sara – that is fine – JaneSmith can't have two stories in Nick/Sara)
- If someone nominates an author in a category they already have a nomination the author must choose which story they want to be in the category.
- If a story fits more than one category it can go in both categories
- All categories are open to any rating and any style – except for specific pairings it doesn't matter if the story is slash, het, or gen.
- Each category will be separated by Show – Exception: AU, Crossover and Fantasy.

~ Categories ~

Angst: stories just filled with lots of angst – (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
AU: stories set in an Alternate Universe same characters different world - (1 Category - All three shows)
Characters Study: stories centered around one character/inside look into their psyche - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
Crossovers: stories that crossover all three shows (Vegas/Miami; Miami/NY; etc) or crossover with other shows (Vegas/WOT; Miami/Nip and Tuck; NY/NCIS) - (1 Category - All three shows)
Case File: stories that are centered around the case not the characters (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
Drabbles: stores that are short character points can be no longer than 150 words - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
Episode Specific: Story related to a specific episode or a tag for an episode - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
Fantasy: stories that are outside the realm of CSI – zombies, werewolves, vampires etc) - (1 Category - All three shows)
Humor/Parody: story is written for soul purpose of humor or parody - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
PWP: stories with no plot just smut it will be split in two categories Slash and Het. - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
Romance: specific relationship based. The pairings are broken down by pairs het and slash from each show. (even if the character has left the show they will still be listed) There is a category of 'Other' for those odd pairings that pop up. If a pairing doesn't get more than three stories the ones nominated will be placed in other. - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
Series: is for stories that have three or more full finished stories relating to a single storyline or arch. - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)
Song: is for stories that were a song is used to tell the story or inserted into the fic. - (3 Categories – Vegas, Miami, NY)
WIP: is for stories that are still being written only exception they must be regularly updated don't nominate a story that hasn't been updated in over six months - (3 Categories - Vegas, Miami, NY)

~ How to Nominate a Story ~

- Reply to the post – stating the category, author, title, and link to the story. Do not send a link to any password sites. The link should go directly to the story. (No Anonymous Posts – Any nominations submitted anonymously will not be added to the list.)
- Email nominations to: csi.fanfic.awards@gmail.com with stating the category, author, title, and a link to the story.

For those who were nominated - there will be banners avaialbe to show off that your story has been nominated for a CSI Fanfic Award.

The mods will be adding nominated stories to the list as they come in. There will be a one week gap between the nominations being closed and the opening for voting. This is to give the mods time to verify stories and make sure the list is complete and accurate.

~ How to Vote ~

- Email your vote to csi.fanfic.awards@gmail.com.
- Reply directly to the post stating your votes. The replies will be screened and locked only the mods will be able to see them.
- ONE VOTE PER CATEGORY!
- Please do not keep voting for your favorite author or story. I'm trusting that we are all adults and will not stoop to child like behavior

Once voting as finished the mods/talliers will count up the votes and annouce the winners!

Winners will receive banners for their awards. This year we'll be making more specific banners for each category listing the authors name and story title. So be patient it might take a bit more time to get your banners.
