IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN!!!

Wow! Time really does fly doesn't it? Hard to believe it's already been another year, and what year it has been! But here we are, gearing up for another fantastic time with the CSI FanFic Awards. Have you been keeping a list of your favorite stories? Well, it's time to dust it off and get ready to send those nominations in soon.

Please take a look at the Rules and Voting Regs page to refresh your memories about the process, and to familiarize yourselves with the recent changes. And start getting those nominations lists ready!

And just to get everyone up to speed, here is our schedule for the 2009 CSI FanFic Awards.

August 1st - Nominations Begin
August 25th - Nominations Close
September 1st - Voting Begins
September 20th - Voting Closes
September 30th - Winners Announced

*If here are any changes to the schedule due to unforseen circumstances, they will be posted immediately.


Volunteers
I will once again ask for volunteers to help once the voting begins. All Talliers will receive a lovely banner for their assistance, and will help to insure that the vote counting is 100% fair and balanced, with no opportunities for even the appearance of partiality.

I would like to ask that I receive assistance from all 3 CSI communities. It will help considerably to have people familiar with all aspects of the content to keep things on the up and up.

Promotions
If you have a Comm, or belong to another CSI forum, please pimp out the awards to everyone. These awards can only get better with more participation.

Banners
Banners will be available for each nomination and winner, and at such time as they are ready I will post a link for you all to retrive them.

Once again, a wonderful artist and friend, dreams_of_him, has agreed to work on some banners for the awards. As you can see above, she's already gotten off to a great start. So, please be sure to give her some well deserved props for the lovely work she's doing for the awards.

Gratitude
Thank you to everyone writing and reading in this fandom. You truly make this a fantastic experience every year, and I know this one will be no different. Good luck to you all!

That's right, it's almost that time again. Lots of great writing has been written in the last year, and I know you're all going to have a terrible time deciding what to nominate. There have been a few changes around here, so please take this time before the big announcement to check out the Rules & Regs.

Thanks to the generosity of dreams_of_him  we'll soon have all new graphics for the 2009 awards. We're also looking for a few volunteers to help with the tallying this year. Please direct your volunteer correspondence to csi.fanfic.awards@gmail.com.

Once again, it came straight down to the wire, but we have our winner's list ready to go!

First, I want to thank our volunteers for all of their amazing work. They have tallied, and fact checked, and double checked, and listened to me crack the whip without even a word of complaint. I wish I could give them much more than a simple banner, so you should all give them a serious pat on the back.

Also in that list is our fearless leader and founder, bjjones  She has been there to back me up through the whole thing and provided excellent counsel throughout. It makes me very happy to be able to continue to improve such a fantastic endeavor and she's the reason we all have to celebrate this community.

In addition, I enlisted the help of the very talented dreams_of_him</lj>  in order to have some outrageously awesome banners made for the awards. She came through with flying colors and I hope everyone enjoys them. If you get a chance, definitely give her a little shout for her wonderful work.

We do have some changes in store for next year, and I hope you come back next week to share some suggestions after we announce those changes and offer up a forum for your ideas.

 *Correction Added: There was a problem found in the process this morning, and thanks to an eagle eyed volunteer we are proud to announce that somethingsdont's "Someday, Friday & Today" series has TIED for the Series - Miami win.

The volunteers and I are busy tallying away to get the results. In the event of a multiple tie there will be a run-off vote, taking place over one week. After which all of the winners will be announced. However, if there are no multiple ties, then we could conceivably have the results for you tomorrow night.

Thank you for your patience as we work to determine the winners. Also, thank you all for your participation. This has been a fantastic year for the awards and it is due in large part to all of you.

That's right, we're almost out of time. So, get those ballots ready and send them on in, and you too can be a part of the process that makes fan fic authors from across this fandom smile with glee.

Cast Your Votes Now!

That's right, we're really getting down the wire on this one. Four more days to get those votes in.

The cut off for voting will be Tuesday, September 16th at 7PM (MDT), and with any luck, we'll have the winners list ready to post on the evening of the 17th. However, another new change this year is the runoff vote. Any category with three or more entries tied at the end of the main vote will be put up for a runoff vote to determine the final winner. Everyone involved in the runoff will receive an Honorable Mention Banner for the delay.

So, get those votes in and avoid the mad rush at the end. The faster we get the votes, the faster we can list the winners!

That's right, we've got just under one more week of voting to go. The voting so far has been very tight, and the volunteers have been furiously tabulating them as they come in. I've also had lots of inquiries along the way, and I've been thrilled with the seriousness people are using to come up with their choices. This year's winner will truly be able to feel the admiration of their peers for the work they have shared with us.

The Nominations List is up and the voting may now commence. It will remain open until Midnight (Mountain Time) on September 16th. We have a fantastic field of nominees this year and I know the voting will be very difficult. Happy reading and good luck making your choices.

 And this will conclude the WIP Nominations Lists. I will be traveling tomorrow, but the volunteers will be continuing to process the nominations in my absence. The nominations will be officially closed at 6PM ET on Sunday, August 31st. Once the nominations are closed, we'll be finalizing all of the entries, and first thing Monday morning you will have a list ready for your votes to commence.

Hey everyone - I know I've been pretty absent through this years CSI Fanfic Awards, though I'm not seen in the forefront I'm still helping out and working with the wonderful group of Volunteers who are helping this year. Who so deserve a round of applause in my humble opinion.

I just wanted to step out front for a moment to say Thanks to everyone who is participating each year this grows and it just makes me so happy to see a little idea grow into something this big.

We've got some wonderful nominations of great stories from a variety of authors. One thing I love about the awards is finding some great stories I normally would have missed due to RL or just being on the wrong comms.

And as much praise as I'm heaping onto everyone - I do want to make an announcement.

We all have our favorite authors, but please refrain from nominating the same author in as many categories as you can. Dig through the past year and pull out some of those great stories some of them many not be from those particular authors you stalk *grins*.

Also for ease of our volunteers please send your nominations in one email. Make a list then send it in. Sending in multiple emails with each email only nominating one story clogs up the awards inbox.

Once again Thank You to everyone. This is turning out to be a good year.

As some of you may be aware, I have *commissioned  dreams_of_him  to make this year's banners. I have total faith and reverence for her abilities in the graphic arts, and she has come through with flying colors (pun intended).

How are those nominations lists coming along? We'll be opening up the floodgates on Friday, and we hope to see them start pouring in! 

We're also still looking for some volunteers to keep us going. Volunteers will be asked to verify nominations, and help to tabulate votes in the next stage of the awards. We need people familiar with all 3 CSI's, but are really desperate in the Miami version. I'd love to have 3 for each show and if there is someone familiar with all 3, that would be a real bonus.
