So... What can I write about my life? Only that it's a load of rubbish at the moment. :) I'm doing too many subjects, too many extra-curricular activities and tiring myself out too much to be able to focus on any of the homework I'm meant to be doing at the same time. Not to mention the stress UCAS caused me last month.
Lets' put it this way. There are... 168 hours in a week.
In a healthy person, 8 hours a night should be spent sleeping - that's 56 hours a week.
I've been sleeping a total of maybe 5 hours a night - 35 hours a week. (a little longer when I'm allowed a lie-in on Sundays or days off. Though the last couple of nights I've had maybe... 3 hours/night max.)
Then I've got school. 4 subjects. 4 hours a week each, school time. 16 hours of lesson time a week, plus assemblies and tutor sessions totalling around 18 hours a week of teacher-based time. 5 hours of study-periods a week. That's time spent in school but not with a teacher.
That totals in at 23 hours a week spent in actual school - almost an entire day, and that doesn't include breaks.
Charlie and the Chocolate factory - the school play. I'm helping to stage manage the production meaning I have to go to every rehearsal and write down the blocking, notes, ideas and anything that might be important for the future of the play. These rehearsals consist of Wednesday 3-5 (2 hours) Thursday lunchtime (3/4 hour) Friday lunchtime (3/4 hour) and Monday lunchtime (3/4 hour.) Totalling in at 4 1/4 hours a week.
I work saturdays, 9.00am - 5.30pm. That's a total of 8 1/2 hours a week.
The time spent at school during breaktimes totals 8.16 hours.
My courses require an equivilent amount of time outside of lesson as in, so another 16 hours a week.
UCAS took me around 2 hours a day for the last week to sort out, that's 10 hours.
I spend half an hour eating my dinner each night - 3.5 hours
168 - 56 = 112
112 - 23 = 89
89 - 4.25 = 84.75
84.75 - 8.5 = 76.25
76.25 - 8.16 = 68.09
68.09 - 16 = 52.09
52.09 - 10 = 42.09
42.09 - 3.5 = 38.59
I have 38 hours and 59 minutes of free time a week. That's basically, Saturday night and sunday. And at least half of that, probably more, is spent on MNFF trying to sort things out and cope with moderating.
...
I need a break.
In other news, I just applied to Oxford University. Wish me luck!
Well, I've decided that junior year in high school is definitely one of those deep levels of hell. So much work! But, despite all the craziness and mounds of homework every night, I'm LOVING what I'm doing this year.
PreCalc has become one of my strongest subjects. I was always good at math but this year...I actually LOVE it. I don't know, there's just something soothing about working your way through a math problem and that sense of relief when you get an answer.
I'm in Theatre Production, which works in conjunction with a drama class. We're doing sound, lighting, costume design, all that good stuff. I also ADORE the new drama teacher this year. She's young, lively, and hilarious. More about drama later...some cool news about that...
Then there's French, which is EASY. Woot. I already know I can get a 5 on that AP test. There's pretty much nothing to it.
APUSH. I LOVE APUSH. My teacher is AWESOME. WOOT.
Then there's Chemisty - I hated it at first, but now I like it. It's so interesting and I love how organized everything is, how it all fits together.
And last but not least, AP English Language. I like it so far. I'm an analysis freak so I'm speaking up a LOT.
The coolest news of all though is this:
I GOT A PART IN THE SCHOOL PLAY!!!
I'm so excited. I've never done a straight play before - always musicals and dance shows, with maybe a line here and there. But I auditioned for this thing and got a PART! A BIG part! I'm so proud of and surprised at myself. I never knew I could act...and now it's my new passion. I adore acting, every minute of it. Our show is called You Can't Take It With You, and I'm playing Essie. Look it up!! :D :D :D :D :D
