The Lost Multifandom Crossover Community is an open crossover writing community based on one premise: On September 22, 2004 at 2:55PM, Oceanic Flight 815 departed from Gate 23 of the Sydney International Airport (in Sydney, Australia), inbound for Los Angeles International Airport (in Los Angeles, California, United States). Unfortunately, the flight never made it.

Oceanic Flight 815 crashed into a large island in the South Pacific. On board that ill-fated flight were characters from various fandoms.

Which fandoms? That's where the fun comes in.

You, the writer(s), get to choose which character(s) from which fandom(s) were on the plane. You write the stories, you post them, and you have fun with it. You, the writer, get to create the universe. If you want Hobbs and Fawkes ("The Invisible Man") on the plane, then Hobbs and Fawkes were on the plane. Maybe Methos from "Highlander: the Series" (under yet another assumed identity naturally) was heading back to the pacific northwest with a layover in Los Angeles. Or maybe Fox Mulder's ("The X-Files") quest for the truth led him all the way around the world to Australia. The whole point is that different characters from different fandoms crashed on the mysterious island.

Not familiar with "Lost"? It's not necessary that you have 100% familiarity with the show. By the very nature of this community, it's an AU to "Lost" where things happened differently. Only the following knowledge is necessary to fully write in this universe:

The Island is as much a mystery to the crash survivors as it is to the readers/viewers. Odd and mysterious things happen on the island, such as an encounter with a polar bear.
Over time, the survivors learn that they are not alone on the island, that there are Others, who's motives are completely alien and clearly not friendly.

Perhaps, though, Lost Wikipedia article excerpt explains it best: A plane crash strands the surviving passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 on a seemingly deserted tropical island, forcing the group of strangers to work together to stay alive. However, their survival may also ultimately depend on unraveling the mysteries of the island, including the contents of a hatch buried in the ground, the origins of an enormous creature that roams the jungle, and the motives of the unknown "Others" who may also inhabit the island..

There is but one caveat to join this community and play along. Know that whatever you write here is free game for everyone else. Anyone can (and very well may) take your idea and write a sequel, a prequel or run with it in some other way.

From time to time, there will be challenges issued based on things that "happen" or occur, and I hope that people will work them into their stories. Other than that, there is no hard and fast canon aside from the original premise and the oddities of The Island; in some cases you might even find that the AU begins to branch into different AUs as writer(s) take previous material and run with it.

It's all about having fun.

Please use a beta reader; or at the very least carefully proofread and edit your story before posting. There is no excuse for sloppiness, terrible spelling and horrible grammar. Any story that defies basic elementary school grammar, punctuation, and spelling will be deleted.
In keeping with the rule above, avoid "net speak." Anything resembling "OMG this is teh part where they gets teh_sex and it is teh HAWT!!1111!!" will be deleted.
All stories posted here will (eventually) be added to the memories
