| | This is a community to share your cross stitch works with other interested people. We're also here to help with any embroidery questions you have! The moderators for this community are bekki_n, cathouse_blues and emohdee - please be aware that you can contact any of us by emailing bekki_n and cathouse_blues at livejournal dot com and siran underscore drauka at yahoo dot com Although this community is dedicated to cross-stitch, please don't feel that you have to stick to cross stitch! Other types of embroidery or similar crafts are welcomed. Please however, go to the LJ FAQ for all Livejournal questions. ************ There are only a few rules here: Cut Tag any pictures, don't advertise things and don't share copyrighted material. Pictures of your work are welcome, however I do ask that you use lj cut tags ( go to the FAQ and livejournal specific tags section for help). Don't advertise things includes advertising your auctions. If you want to advertise a community, use LJ's official page at community_promo. If you'd like to organise a swap, please feel free and if you're giving stuff away, please only request payment for postage. Failure to follow these rules will result in your post being removed. Don't share copyright material: Most, though not all, kits, charts and patterns have a statement reading something like "permission granted to copy/photocopy for personal use." "Personal use" means so you can write on it, mark it up, use highlighter, whatever – usually so you don't damage the original – but it does not mean you can give away or sell photocopies, scans, electronic files or other copies of the product for someone else's "personal use". It's fine to post an image of the product (behind an lj-cut), or a link on where to find it, but please do not post that you will share a chart or pattern, nor links to "sharing sites". The moderators will remove such posts or comments, and those who post them will receive a warning the first time. Repeated offense will result in banning from cross_stitch. NOTE: Please be kind to your fellow members who may be under eighteen or who may read the community at work and restrict your icons to a "G" rating. | Hi everyone! Some time since I don't post, but I had to finish the project that I didn't finished on Worl Cup So, dance with me! This is biggest project that I've done since I began to stitch 1 year and 7 months ago. Participate in World Cup in this group was important for me to continue sitching on it and to finish it too. Hugs!

| Congratulations to our Golden Needle Award Winner:
fuzzyboo03
To start with, the votes were spread across all the winners, you all did such a wonderful job of stitching during the World Cup that I am not surprised about that! Then slowly 3 stitchers started emerging as the possible winners, and it turned into a close race between emohdee, fuzzyboo03 and sulinpanda. In the end the difference was just 1 vote between all 3... WOW! If you want to see the projects our great stitchers worked on during the World Cup, take a look at the Gallery of ChampionsWell done to everyone that took part in this event!

| Hahaha...No! There are actually updates to both Happy Everything by Janlynn..and get this..FINISHES too!! Please check your forecast for snow as I know it's bound to be a blizzard out there since I have actually finished something. Seeing as I have not learned the art of placing pictures on this site...I'll just give you the link to my blogspot to view the pics. As for the Stitching World cup..I did not meet my goal at all. Hahaha..not even close. I, queen of the idiots, thought that life would be calm enough for me to finish four of the Animal Magnetism squares. Boy was I mistaken....I was only to complete up to the last picture that was shown. Hopefully tho, I will get some more time to work on those...I shouldn't say time..it's a mere matter of patience..as those blasted Stoney Creek demons..LOVE their color changes!!! :p BAH!! So..here's the link..ENJOY!! http://www.stitchertigger.blogspot.comHappy Stitchin!! X Stitch X | |

| I completed my (restated) goal!! Finally, I have pictures to show off :) My original goal was made of up two parts: 1) work on my mom's UFO, and 2) finish a wedding sampler for my friend. I got in way too deep with the second one, so I ended up restating that goal about halfway through. My new second goal was to finish ~1/2 of the cross-stitching (excluding backstitching). I ended up doing a little less on top, and a little more on the bottom, so I feel it balances itself out :) My schedule for the WC was completely empty, as I was out of school, lazily job-hunting, and trying to deal with insomnia/caffeine addiction (which sucks). So I was pulling a lot of 10-12 hour shifts to keep me busy (ie, I don't normally stitch this much in this short of an amount of time). ( My Stitching World Cup achievements...UFO and Wedding Sampler )This is the first time I've posted pictures, so if anything is off, please let me know :) Rachel | |

| Ooohhh, I've lost World Cup. Because of some reasons I couldn't finished my second goal, so there are last pictures of Flower Peddler from Mystic Stitch:

| Sweet headline, don't you think? *grin* Anyway, if I had been at home (@*.fi) last month I might have stitched whole Alter Echo sampler (even though my goal was only half of it), but as I was, and am, in Bangkok (and first days of SWC went for packing my stuff and getting ready for coming here...) I haven't had time or energy to stitch as much I'd have liked. ( Behold, a picture! ) But things are never so bad that there weren't something good... I've had some nice stash shopping in here. *grin* PINN doesn't have a store in former WTC anymore, even their site claims so, but I've found two of their pattern books from bookstores and some exclusively Thai "magazines" so it wasn't all bad (and then, this trip was free, all-expenses-paid sort of thingy so I can't complain *grin*). ( Piccie of complete stash haul ) I have to admit that I haven't had time to read community lately, but I promise to concentrate on your achievements when I get back home (which is Sunday afternoon) and have some rest. - Tags:olympics

| I managed to finish half of my World Cup Goal. Sadly, Real Life got in my way and I found myself not having the time to finish the Hello Cthuhlu project. Moving sucks. As a reminder, my goals were: Finish Wedding Sampler (halfway begun) -> completed! Stitch Hello Cthuhlu (Nothing done) -> face is half stitched. I did, however, complete the first half of my World Cup goal, which was the wedding sampler. While my pictures suck (I can't wait until I can set up my scanner again!), I did take a couple of the sampler before it was framed. ( pictures! ) | |

| Here are the pics promised of the GOOOOOOOOOOOALs met! ( Read more... )Thanks for looking, and congrats to all those who made goal, and all those who made the effort! | |
|
| Here's the picture of the finished product! Sorry the picture's not great, I'm still having to borrow a friend's camera phone since I still can't get my digicam talking to my computer. ( Guess How Much I Love You )Yay, it's done! | |
|
| I didn't make my goal but I did have fun marathon stitching last night. If I had actually sat down and stitched more I know I would have made it, but I kept having other things to do. Here are my latest pictures. I DID manage to get the lower half back stitched which means all the words are done. *happy dance* The rest will be a breeze. Then I have the beads. Are the beads supposed to have the hole facing up or should the side be up? Probably the side I am thinking. SO much fun. I am going to be doing zodiac needlebooks for my business after this though. With a cross stitch needlebook do you make the inner pages felt or would it be fine for them to be aida as well? ( WoL WIP Pics ) | |

| So I have a presentation today, but spent all last evening working on the Pledge so I could meet my goal ;) I don't have time to post pictures right now because of the crunch time between now and my presentation, but I will very soon. Unfortunately, my earlier comments about it being UGLY ring true still. The backstitching on the letters is terrible. I might pull it all out and figure something else out. I'll need opinions. Anyway, but to school work, and my goal pictures will be posted soon! | |
|
| I'm posting late, but I made my GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLL. For a few weeks, I didn't think I would make it, but I did, on Saturday. Will post pictures later. Unfortunately, I got some really bad news and had to bolt out of the house to take care of things before work, and I forgot the camera, so hopefully piccies tomorrow or tonight.
Congratulations to all the fellow World Cup Stitchers!

| Okay, I've finally got pictures of the WCgoals. ( click ) | |

| Well, the final of the Football World Cup saw Italy as the winners. I wouldn't have guessed they would win based on their performance in the first games. It just goes to show the world is full of surprises! I am really pleased to anounce that we have 17 World Cup winners so far! I expect a couple more to put their hand up over the next couple of days. I will be away next week, and return home on the 16th of July, when I shall post the Champions Gallery! The Winners badge will also be available then... This also means you all have until Saturday July 15th to post your World Cup pictures! You have until midnight of July 9th to finish your stitching... please try not to cheat too much! ;o) Here is a list of all the winners so far: ( list of Champions )As promissed we will have the Golden Needle Award. Here is how it will work, those team members that : - achieved their World Cup goal(s)
- posted picture(s) of their finished project
- if goal was to finish an existing WIP: posted pic of the WIP at the start of the World Cup
... are illegible eligible for the Golden Needle Award. When I post the Gallery of Champions for the World cup, I will also make a post with the list of winners eligible for the Golden Needle Award on my journal. Voting will be done by replying to that post, all replies will be screened (this will keep voting secret - OK, I'll know who voted for who... but I promise not to tell). Voting will be open for 1 week. At the end of that week I will count the votes and anounce the winner! Criteria for allocating your vote will be flexible: best looking project, largest, fastest stitcher... nicest stitcher. Anything goes! This is a special award and there will be only 1 winner for this award... no second places! Golden Needle Award winner gets: a huge boost to their stitching confidence and because I am feeling generous... some Zweigart fabric (either aida, linen or evenweave depending on preference of the winner) - that is assuming winner is willing to trust me and send their snail mail address to me. ;o) Enjoy your week! And Happy Stitching!

| Finally, I made it! Rose Splendor is finished, and I scored my revised World Cup goal. Pix are behind the cut: ( Read more... )Also, here are a couple of other finishes. These were the little pieces I didn't get finished for the Olympics, but I kept working on them: ( Read more... )I think I tend to underestimate the amount of time it will take to stitch on higher counts. Oh well, I'm learning :) ETA: I've added a pic of where I was at the beginning of the World Cup. Also (more importantly) thanks for all the comments...y'all rock! | |
|
| I did it I did it I did it! I finished, huzzah! And, of course, I can't find my digital camera. Curses. Well, hopefully I'll find it today or tomorrow, but either way, I finished, yay!
(And if I never see that shade of blue again, it'll be too damned soon.)

| I finished my World Cup project! ( Finished lighthouse )I leave tomorrow for a four day cruise. I'm taking the fractal with me, but I'm not sure what else I'm taking with me. I'm going to start on the some kittens of the month. They're small and fairly easy so I'm taking January through April. I've gridded all four months on one piece of Aida. I've also made an archive of the four fractals I've downloaded from Cross Stitch Collectibles including the latest one. Since it's come up in several posts' comments, just to be helpful, clicking on the "Black and White" button won't open the chart. You have to click the picture. My archive is here. Those are the only four I have. Click on the picture and the .pdf will open in another window so you might want to turn off your pop up blocker. I don't have any ads or spyware or anything so don't worry. With that, I'm off to do more packing :) See you all in a week or so! | |

| Yay I made my World Cup Goals, shame I can't say the same for my beloved England... never mind eh? Anyway, I'd previously posted about the "What's Cook'n" kit, cheap and cheerful. I gave it to a friend at work since we work at a food company. ( What's Cook'n ) It took 5.5 hours, so not bad at all. My main goal for the Stitching World Cup was to complete the WIP "Power Nap", previously I'd done about 1/3 of it. Here it is as of 6.10.06: ( WIP 6.10.06 )And finally here is Power Nap Completed as of yesterday: ( Power Nap Completed 7.7.06 ) with 2 days to spare! This is the first piece that I ever kept track of how long it took for stitching, and it was 32 and 1/4 hours. There were a lot of French knots on each of the letters, although at least they were the same colour as the writing so there was no change in threads to do them. I'm pretty happy with how it looks. Today I bought a nice red wooden frame for it that will compliment it nicely. :) Whee!! | |
|
| How is everyone doing on this last weekend of the World Cup? I am busily trying to get the winners badge done! While doing that I thought popped into my mind. Football players can be highly superstitious. Read about it here... Superstition, a football traditionAnd that made me curious... do any of you have any Stitching Superstitions??? For me, the only thing I can think of that would come even close to a stitching superstition is that I can not stop stitching without having started the next thread for my next stitching session. This is a problem because often I will just keep stitching after that... So do share your Stitching Superstitions??? | |

| Mark down another Stitching World Cup GOAL! I've finally completed Page 2 of HAED Angel of Compassion! I had a mini goal for myself to have it finished by June 30... I was a little late, but I put in a marathon session and completed 900 stitches yesterday to get it all done, but with plenty of time left in the Stitching World Cup. Hooray! And now... on to Page 3! It's looking pretty interesting now... there are lots of color changes with pinks and purples, and you can see a wing and the top of her head. And now, what you've all been waiting for... a ( picture! )And to remind you of what the finished product should look like... ( The artwork by Selina Fenech. ) | |
