Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood: creative
Entry tags:tags

Having only just realised today that I need to add tags if people want to use them in the community, I've added the following tags:

finished piece
wip
free charts
how to

Please let me know if there's any others I should add. I don't really want to have 50,000,000 different tags, so I'll try to keep it simple.

Thanks much!

The concept of tags is still weird to me - I don't know, I just cant understand the difference between that and memories.

But thanks, LOL

I think it makes it a little easier, especially in a community, to use tags. I have to normally add in memories myself, but everyone can put in the tags themselves.

you could add a shops one.. people quite often mention when a store is having a particularly good sale.. to save having loads of tags though it could be used for a general stores/shopping websites, regardless of location... like a "where to find.."

Personally, I don't see a need for WIP tags. I'd rather see finished pieces. (I memory my own WIPs but can't remember ever needing/wanting to look at anyone else's WIP posts.)

Shops is a good idea.

General birching about "i hate this thread/fabric/store"... I dunno, I don't ever see a need to go back to posts about that. Useful information is one thing (e.g. "I got very frustrated with this embroidery thread but then! I found The Miracle Thread Goop!") but just complaining about backstitching or whatever... eh. Like you said, we don't need a million tags or to cover every post made in the comm.

I think it's kinda cool being able to go back and review the progress on someones WIP - it shouldn't be too hard to work out which posts are from whom, I think.

I totally agree that there's no point tagging everything, it's not necessary.

I might put in "shops" though

"Frames", in reference to hoops, Q-Snaps, scroll frames, stretcher bars...I don't think it's necessary to have a separate category for each, especially since we get a lot of "this vs. that" discussions. Unless you think the category "fames" would get confused with framing, in which case it needs another name.

PS--thanks for doing all this work, I know you're super-busy right now. **hugs**

Ok, actually going back and *reading* the other comments (a concept, I know, but I was busy at the time), this stuff could all be considered "equipment" I guess...that way it can cover stands and such as well.

I (insert number here) the one about shops. I would prefer a way of seperating online sources from actual buildings (since that's my primary way of obtaining materials) but it's okay if it all goes under one tag.
