How To Make A Pillow Cover
It has taken me *forever* to track down this magazine article...go figure that it was in the one issue that wasn't filed with all the others. *grumble* Anyway, here is part of an article that Threads magazine ran back in their January '03 issue (it's issue #104 if anyone wants to order it). The article is titled "Four Fancy Finishes for Pillow Corners", but I've only scanned the part that references making the actual pillow covers themselves, without the corner embellishments. This cover is pretty simple to make, using a "flap" opening so you don't have to worry about sewing in a zipper (unless you want to, of course!).
I've had to shrink the image file down for display here, so if anyone wants a copy at full-size please email me (my contact info is here) and I'll send it to you. I'm also going to try rescanning and fiddling the article to see if I can make it bigger while still staying within the file size limits imposed by my photo hosting site :-P
From a sewing standpoint, I would highly recommend backing your finished stitching with light- to medium-weight fusible interfacing to secure the threads, and either serging or zigzag stitching your raw edges to prevent fraying. If anyone has any sewing questions, I'd be glad to answer them.
