Olympics pictures
Well, I *finally* remembered to bring the work camera home, so pictures!

Here's my bronze win:

Whee! Now to figure out how I want to finish it (lined or not? learn the sewing machine or just put them together like a biscornu?).

Silver, not finished:

There's a story, naturally... There's this company that does Flash-based fantasy games, single-player. Two are sword-and-sorcery, one is mechs. Well, they've gone and developed a MORPG Flash-based game! In their discussion forums, they asked for a name for the server. In one of the sword-and-sorcery games, all the knights of a particular keep are "Sir" something (e.g., Sir Valence, Sir Prize, Sir Chandestroy...), and I guess someone suggested "Sir Ver." So they drew him.
When I finish this guy, I'm going to make him a pillow and send it to them... :)

Okay, the original bronze. I'm going to sell this pattern, so there's a watermark on it. Tell me what you guys think of it. (There's a story here, too...)

It's a family saying. (I have a strange family...) Instead of Pooh's "Oh bother!", my mom has always added, "said Pooh as he dragged the body into the other room."
Well, I said this in an email to someone who just about died. So I figured that would be the first piece I'd chart in my quest to sell quotations and I'm going to send it to her.
I hope to have designs up for sale next year. I gotta get busy!

And, of course, lovely stitching!

*laughs* did Pooh kill Tigger?

I love the Sir Ver one, and the Arthur/Guenevere one is beautiful!

I like the Pooh one - only because I am sick to death of seeing Pooh stuff everytime I turn around!

As for the Bronze one - size and shape suggests a needlebook to me.

Oh, I want to make a pouch for my Treo. That's what they're for. The Treo just just slightly bigger than each window.

Beautiful stitching of course, but... I have a very strange question. :)

That ruler in the first pic -- Area Agency on... Aging? By any chance?

Ohh! That's what your email was about. :)

It's whatever was in my desk at work .. um let me pull it out...
Why yes, that's what it says. Area Agency on Aging of Northeast Florida. Strange. I think it was here when I started working here 6 years ago.
I'm a secretary in a Math department at a regional University.

*laughing* I'm always bass-ackwards, it seems. =) Nor can I ever manage to say anything right!

The AAonA must have been a national thing. Thanks for settling that for me, though I am disappointed I'm not finding a stitching buddy locally. ;)

OMG the pooh one SO tripped me out!

lol Don't get me wrong - I LOVE Pooh. The original AAMilne books, that is. Disney Pooh is ... okay. At least it isn't Barney. ::shudder:: Or the porous yellow sponge. Gag!

God, my son LOVES the sponge. It makes me insane. Though I agree, to a point. I liked pooh growing up, but in my early 20's I developed a theory about how the Hundred Acre Woods was the heart of chaos, and therefor, evil. Pooh brings on all sorts of horrible things, as though he's a plague to all the creatures of the forest. Tigger was a tiger on some serious drugs. Piglet had an inferiority complex. Eeyore was obviously manic depressive. Rabbit has an extreme case of OCD. Kanga is trying to play Mom to everyone. Roo has no brain, because seriously, the kid is crazy. And Owl, well I'm convinced he thinks he's God.

Ok, I've talked too much about it now. All the old thoughts are coming back. Thank God my son doesn't watch Pooh. Though, that's what got me started on the theory, watching when he was little.

It's amazing how things you loved as a child can look SO much different when you get older. *shakes head*

LOL!

Actually, you might want to read Christopher Hoff's "Tao of Pooh" and "Te of Piglet." He puts the characters into similar archetypes of exactly that: Pooh is Simple, Piglet is Self-Effacing (but is the only character who undergoes personal growth in the series), Eyeore is Negative, Rabbit is Boss, Owl is Expert, etc. I really like them. They helped me through a rough patch.

I say bring back Sid & Marty Croft!! At least you KNOW they were on acid developing their shows!
