Color difference in floss?
All right, lovelies -- I need an opinion. I have a couple of projects that I started like -- over a decade ago, and I'd really like to finish them for the love of gods if it kills me. And it just may. Part of the problem is the fact that I've lost floss, or -- I think I might have confused a couple of projects. I don't know. So -- to my question. Is the color difference really noticeable? I think it is, but I'm also obsessive like that.

So -- what do you think?

I don't think it's that noticeable....

With all the other shading in the piece, I don't think it will be noticable.

I know exactly what you're talking about, having recently dug up an 11 year old UFO...

I had to buy some new floss, there just wasn't enough of what I had started with (and some of the old stuff may have even been Anchor, with new DMC). The difference I noticed between the old and new floss wasn't so much in color, but more in the sheen of the floss. So the new floss looks a little brighter, but isn't really a different color. If that makes sense.

That's sort of what I see on your piece too, but only because you pointed it out. I don't think it's noticeable on its own. And as [info]eliset said, the shading will help to disguise it.

The piece looks pretty so far, will be great to see more of your progress :-)

With the cross stitch project of mine with flowers in a vase I lost the light pink thread, so I bought some more and it was a slightly different pink but not noticeable which is the same as yours, its not noticeable :)

When you focus on those particular two colors, yes, I think the difference is noticable. Then, when looking at the whole thing, you don't realize it because as others said, with all the shades, it blends into this nice flower :)

Up close, it's noticeable. But with the levels of shading it should be fine. It may also be that (from what I can see, I could be wrong) you have more stitching in that particular color on the right top and it makes it stand out more.

Can you tell if you look for it? Yes. Do you notice if you're not looking for it? No.

If it wasn't pointed out, I doubt I would have even noticed it.

I too can see the color difference, but I doubt it will be very noticable once the whole flower is stitched. I think it will be really nice!
