Since finishing FISH, I've taken the day to clean up and straighten all my stash and stitching supplies in anticipation of starting
Cirque des Cercles. A friend of mine and I are going to do a little private SAL to encourage one another on it. I'm going to actually try gridding the fabric this time since I might have to cry if I made a counting mistake that made me frog a lot of such a gorgeous piece with so many little motifs that have to fit up just exactly right.
Today was spent filing the patterns in my stash that had been tucked away other places that my happy little pattern file. Including the copy of
Camelot Sampler that I thought had mistakenly gotten rid of!
I also tucked away the skeins of floss that had been floating around my desk and straightened up the spare Stitchbows that had been sitting around from me finishing various skeins in the process of stitching FISH.
I've got La-D-Da's
Old Glory Angel started as my "I need a break from Cirque" piece and all the bits and bobs for it are set up and ready. I've got the fabric and pattern out for Cirque and am working on gathering the flosses together.
There is just something really satisfying about that cleaning and organizing process between projects. It just makes such a good segue between frantically working to finish something and the eager happiness of putting the first few stitches into another big project.
