Where haberdashery and geekdom combine

02:30 pm - Post-project cleanup babbling.
stitchery
Since finishing FISH, I've taken the day to clean up and straighten all my stash and stitching supplies in anticipation of starting Cirque des Cercles. A friend of mine and I are going to do a little private SAL to encourage one another on it. I'm going to actually try gridding the fabric this time since I might have to cry if I made a counting mistake that made me frog a lot of such a gorgeous piece with so many little motifs that have to fit up just exactly right.

Today was spent filing the patterns in my stash that had been tucked away other places that my happy little pattern file. Including the copy of Camelot Sampler that I thought had mistakenly gotten rid of!

I also tucked away the skeins of floss that had been floating around my desk and straightened up the spare Stitchbows that had been sitting around from me finishing various skeins in the process of stitching FISH.

I've got La-D-Da's Old Glory Angel started as my "I need a break from Cirque" piece and all the bits and bobs for it are set up and ready. I've got the fabric and pattern out for Cirque and am working on gathering the flosses together.

There is just something really satisfying about that cleaning and organizing process between projects. It just makes such a good segue between frantically working to finish something and the eager happiness of putting the first few stitches into another big project.

Okay, all, I have a deep-seated love of hedgehogs.  My search for hedgie freebies led me to a page I just have to share with you:

07:27 pm - 'Love Everlasting' update
I thought I'd give you all an update on my progress on the wedding cross stitch. Here's what I had before http://community.livejournal.com/cross_stitch/2169444.html
And here's what I have now )
09:04 pm - sales question

About how much should I charge for cross-stitched cards of Celtic knots?  I figure supplies alone will cost about $10 total.  Would $20 be too much for a pack of eight as a starting bid?  It's for a charity auction.

Edit: I did put it at $20.  I really hope someone bites.  Wish me luck.

09:56 pm - WIP - Baby Afghan
pc jd oh sh*t
I found out back in January that my best friends are expecting a little girl in September. So I decided to challenge myself by making my new little niece an afghan. So far, this is the biggest project I've taken on, and I have about 12 weeks left to work on it. Or at least 8 for sure. Depends whether or not I decide to give it as a shower gift or wait until my niece is actually born.

When I finish, it will look like this.
11:47 pm - Serbian wedding - WIP
Happy
There I finally managed to recreate it in Serbian. All cross and half-cross done. Backstitches and couching left.

Wedding )

And I went into a new LNS in my town where I almost got mad at all the sales for fantastic patterns and kits...
So I clenched my teeth and settled for only three patterns... for now!!! XD

The more patterns, the better :) )
