09:24 am - variegated floss cross stitch sampler work-in-progress: 5
intervention: walking on sunshine
almost done! )

rainbow threads
I think I found my cross stitch mojo again. It's been months upon months since I've gotten into a project, or stitched for more than ten minutes without listlessly throwing it aside in disinterest. Of course it helps that this project was rather small. It focuses on backstitch. I'm about a third done with backstitch, which was all done from midnight till 3:30 am this morning. *sigh* Yes, backstitching is more important than sleep. :)

11:16 am - Up for Grabs

Hey there folks,

I've been pawing through my stash to try to winnow things down, and stick with what I know how to do well. (Instead of buying lots of stuff that I don't know how to do, getting it started, and then never finishing them.) So in an effort to get new homes for my orphan projects, I have the following kits just waiting for someone to pick up where I left off (usually right at the beginning.)

Jiffy #16603 – Eagle with outstretched wings (Cross stitch)
Dimensions # 7167 – Noah's ark in the flood (needlepoint)
Dimensions #6183 – Carousel with horses (gallery crewel)
Jiffy #17046 – Leaping dolphins (needlepoint)
Bucilla #40591 – Nearer To God's Heart, flower and butterfly sampler (crewel)

If anyone wants one of these, just send me a message, and I'll send it off to you as soon as I can.  :-)

12:06 pm - Question
Staring
I finally managed to find how to translate my wedding gift into Serbian. But in case I ran out of thread : what does Dimension use? Anchor?
01:08 pm - Dimensions kit: Captivating Felines
conant
I finished this for my mother-in-law for Christmas, and finally got around to getting a picture of it. Well, I got one, and it's utterly enormous, but you can see some details at least.  I'm sorry for the size and any quality issues.

Captivating Felines is a kit I picked up in 1998, did a tiny bit on, and then forgot about until last year, when I returned to work on it with a vengeance! It is on 14-count black Aida and I didn't do any real changes to it. I'm pretty much a by-the-kit stitcher right now.

Here is a link to an eBay auction of the kit for anyone interested. NOTE: Not my auction.

Picture back here for the feline fanciers... )
02:55 pm - Your favorite magazines
cross stitch
I'm considering subscribing to Cross-Stitch and Needlework magazine. For those of you who subscribe or who have bought individual issues, how would you describe the style of the projects? Do you like the magazine? What other cross stitch magazines do you recommend?
04:32 pm - An Update!
Rain
I'm sorry, I haven't been posting an update every week. I started working full-time in a kitchen so when I get home, I just want to sleep instead of stitching. I'm sure you can relate.

But I finally had a day off to stitch a little. So, I decided that I should update.
05:04 pm - Tuscany
stitching
I want to stitch Tuscany by Mary Ellen Yanich next.  I have the pattern downloaded and printed out, but I'm not sure what color to stitch it on. It looks like the model is on white, but that's pretty boring. Any other Ideas? I'm most likely going to use 28ct evenweave or linen.

06:51 pm - Second mice project finished.
Elephant
I finished stitching my second mice project on Saturday night. I have really enjoyed stitching both of them and I am happy with how they have turned out. :-) I can't wait to have them framed and see them displayed on my bathroom wall.
Again I stitched the mice on the 14 count blue and white swirled aida with DMC thread. I enjoyed stitching the first piece with the mice and the toothpaste more than this one, but I still like the picture.

Those who bring sunshine... )

And then I have three WIPs, though one is half-finish, half-WIP.

Wild Thing [WIP] )

Always Together [WIP] )

Fire and Ice [WIP] )

Hoping to have the bottom corner of "Always Together" finished by mid-August, but we'll see since baby's due by Friday and I really don't think I'll have as much free time with him around. ♥
