09:34 am - Washing your stitching??
threading mouse
OK, here is the deal, my Wish Fairy has a pink spot on the fabric (something on my fingers???  not sure) and the white thread is turning pink as I stitch...  So of course I put her away to avoid it :)
I have never really washed my stitching and am petrified with an HAED so close to being done!  I don't want to mess anything up, you know?
So what are your EASY, and FOOLPROOF (seriously guys!) tips for washing cross stitch?  Or more exactly, for washing a tiny spot of the stitching and fabric?
Thanks!
11:48 am - a finish
cross stichers
I finally got around to finishing this the other week. I only had it sitting in a box for the past year or so. *sigh* But, it is done now. Now I just need to get it framed! heh. Who knows how long that will take.

12:42 pm - SBQ: Blends
stitchery
How do you handle blended threads? Do you kit the blends up before you start a piece, or do you grab what colors you need and blend when the need arises? If you kit up the blends beforehand, how do you store them? Do you have another option for blends to share?

I do blending on-the-fly. When I'm working on something that uses a lot of blends (like the Stretch bookmarks), I get the two colors out and cut a length of each, then just pull the strands from each when I'm ready to use them, much like I do when I'm doing just one color. If I have to switch colors and still have the strands for the blend, I wrap the blend colors around the stitchbow for one of the colors, usually. If I've got blends using a lot of the same colors, I just put the different flosses back with their own color.

08:26 pm - Stitching Blogs
Xstitch Bonsai by asgard
Hi guys,
am just getting back into cross stitching, and want to try and stick with it this time around.
Part of my problem is staying motivated, and while thinking about ways to help myself with this, I thought about the things I enjoyed.

The social aspect definitely, reading peoples blogs, getting to know folk, that sort of thing.

So I was wondering if anyone here has a stitching blog they'd like to share?

This is mine:
http://asgard.gen.nz/crossstitch/

But would love to start reading other peoples' too!
