It's been a long time since I've posted anything, but since I've seen a couple of other people who are working on Chatelaine pieces, I thought I would post my last WIP photo. I am working on the Taj Mahal Mandala Garden. Here is my floss toss and the first WIP photo I took back in February.

Hello fellow cross stitchers-

I was just curious- how long do projects take you in terms of hours?? I am a slow stitcher ( I think) so projects usually take me a long time. Sizes/examples would be lovely as I am trying to get an idea of how long a project could take. Does anyone know of any conversion information to find out approximately how long a project would take ( I recognize that there are lots of variables that could take place- like changing colors)?

BTW, for those of you who remember me from last year- I've missed checking this community and I am so happy to pop in and see all your beautiful work!

I'm going to be around the Jessup/Columbia/Silver Spring, Maryland area soon and was wondering if anyone knew of a good cross stitch store in the area. We might even head over to Baltimore. I've been to Stitching Pretty in Laurel, MD, but would like to find another store to visit and add to my overloaded stash! Thanks!!

Let me see, whats new in the last couple of months... I finally finished Haiku!!! Haiku is not as nice looking as Fuji, see my user pic, but together they make a nice set - calm and energy... sleepy and awake, yin and yang... you get the idea! AND... I had the pleasure of stitching H&S Vanilla while visiting lady_savant and later haniaw. Plus my traveling project Random Thoughts is now well and truly half way done - thanks to all the business trips I had so far this year. Onto the updated list!

So I thought it would be fun to list my weekly rotation so I could show everyone how I am doing:

I think this might be a little ambitious but I am trying to make a dent in all of the cross stitch I have accumulated over the last 3 years. If I rotate it out, I'm hoping I won't get bored or burnt out. The days have multiple I will switch every week. The day that I have to work on my "business"- I've been doing designs for needle cases and scissor holders- I will post them soon once I get some models made.

Does anyone else have a rotation???

Have DMC colors changed much/at all in the past twenty years?

I got a bunch of DMC floss from my grandmother, and some of it has got to be in the neighborhood of 10-20 years old.
