Magnificent Wizard update

I've focused on this piece a few times this year.  Pretty much until I get tired of it and want to stich a different type of project.  I've been working on this project very intently for the last few weeks.  I wanted to get half finished by my son's b'day (7-22).  I was only a week late. ;o) It's a bit more than half done, but I've met my personal 50% goal and will set this aside for a bit.  Soon it's time to stitch the ugly rock, so a break will be nice.  I was a bit annoyed when I ran out of a color.  Yes, I totally screwed up and had to start over again.  BUT.  I never used the color I ran out of the first time I started.  Fortunately CyberStitchers' conversion chart  was spot-on.

What it will look like when finished.

Magnificent Wizard by Dimensions wip 7-27-07.

Thanks for looking. :o)

Interesting effect with the black aida. Looks like a lot of work!

It is sort of cool with the black, isn't it? It's definitely a lot of work. I asked my son what the heck I was doing this for (it's for him) and he said, "Because it's AWESOME, Mom!" Just the encouragement I need. :o)

Was it one of the blues? I have a vague recollection of running out of a color when I stitched this a few years back.

It's coming along great!

No, it was the lightest yellow, right next to the magician's ball. I would have had plenty if I'd used only 2 plies of floss, but it called for 3, and I ran out. GRRR. I still have quite a bit of the blue to stitch yet, so I may run out of it, too. I half expect to run out of the colors used for the dragon, since I started this twice. My fault. Running out of yellow is irritiating.

I love the way you've worked on it. Mine was piecemeal here and there -- yours is ever so much better!

I personally liked the rock....seeing it become a rock was very exciting for me. Then again, this was my first (!) xs project, so I didn't know what to expect.

Thank you! There's something about that rock that seems "off" to me. It might be the gray, I'm not sure. It's just ugly to me.

This is a very ambitious project to do first! Good for you for sticking with it. And sticking with xs, period, after that. :o)

I'll finish it for you if you finish "Fire & Ice" for me. It's done all in reds & blues on black cloth. & it's like 12" x 16".

ROTFL! Mine is only 12" x 14", so I guess I'll keep it. :D

I love your Fire & Ice. :o)
