So, I'm moving across the state and what's the first thing I think of?

Ohmigod, where will I get my stitching supplies?!?!?!?!

I have already found a place. And it's got a bunch of cool classes that it offers, as well as a sit and stitch where you come bring your stitching and hang out with other stitchers!!

I feel like I'm in heaven.

(It's Distinctive Stitches, in case you're wondering).

Out of blatant curiosity, where are you living now? As I'm just north of Detroit myself, Kzoo is "across the state"....

Not quite up to Mt. Pleasant. I'm in Bridgeport now (seeing as we /just/ moved last month so we wouldn't be living with our parents after the wedding), but still working in Bay City.

LOL, you should try moving halfway around the world to a country where cross stitching supplies are scarce. Its bad enough that a skein of DMC costs about US0.85 in Australia, here in Germany if you can find a store that actually has DMC, it costs anywhere between US 1.35 to US 4.00 (and that is for stranded cotton, nothing varigated/mettalic).

You are one lucky girl to have found a such a nice store close to you!

Oh man. :(

Well, unless we end up at an International Macy's, I don't think we'll need to worry about being moved out of the country anytime soon.

Weird that DMC costs so much in Germany. Isn't it a French brand? You'd think it'd be cheaper.

Anchor is more prolific over in Europe, right?

Oh cool!

We'll be moving there later this month. Maybe I'll have to bring Autumnal Woods by to work on it.

I'm laughing, Galyndean. I'm moving to upstate New York next weekend, and in the process of packing I've made super, extra, doubly-sure that my cross stitch supplies, stash, and WIP's are all carefully boxed up and WELL-marked, so I'll be able to locate them immediately.

I'm also chuckling because when I was looking around at apartments, two of the first stores I made sure I located were Michael's Crafts and Jo-Ann Fabrics. As my boyfriend was pointing out places like the supermarket and bank, I was making sure I knew where the important places were. What's funny is that I didn't even realize that's what I had done until you pointed it out.

It's nice that we have our priorities in order. ^_^
