the nerve of some people....
As a huge fan of My Aunt's Attic , I was extremely disappointed to read the latest news on the page...

I just can't believe anyone would decide to charge for charts that are available for free. :-(

And now, unfortunately, the person responsible for My Aunt's Attic has to go through the time and trouble to put up copyright info.

Harumph.

Oh, wow, I had not seen that. It's a shame because this is such a nice project with many people working on it.

I did notice that Nouveau Encore moved the chart to their free page and credited My Aunt's Attic. That's how it should have been done in the first place.

If you scroll down on My Aunt's Attic, she has a post stating that that's how it was done in the first place. There was another site offering that sampler that was put up for free for money.

Nouveau Encore had posted the sampler in their freebies to start with - she even asked Lilian (the owner of Tantes Zolder) for permission to use the motifs in the first place.

It's someone else who's trying to sell it. Just disgusting!

I love My Aunt's Attic and save the patterns when she posts them. I love the story behind it, I love her generosity, and I was amazed that someone had the guts to take free stuff and post it for sale as their own.

As if the needlework community doesn't do an excellent job with the grapevine.

And it was really weird. Usually the pattern issues are with people giving away copies of copyrighted patterns for free.
