Here is a list I made of all the characters you can be rated as.

Takashi Kamiyama
As you all know, he's our main character of this story. He's an honor student who ended up having to enter the vicious Cromartie High School. It's amazing to see this serious student act so stupid, but at the same time, he also has nerves of steel that enable him to adapt himself to his surroundings at Cro-High and become the key figure somehow. His hobby is contributing his jokes to late-night radio shows. He's been very active as one of the top postcard artisans.

Shinjiro Hayashida
He is someone who often disturbs the progress of the story. He's like a shock troops commander and the type of guy who can't even do subtraction. Somehow, he's close friends with Kamiyama and Maeda, but his personality allows him to keep his friendship seprarate from other things, like "my hobby is troubling Maeda's household." His trademark mohawk hair moves a lot, possibly because his emotions change, or because it feels uncomfortable when not much is moving on the screen.

Akira Maeda
Although he's a strong fighter, no one recognizes his strength because he doesn't have a bad ass nickname. Because he has a level headed personality, he's become the one who raises questions at Cro-High. He often gets unfavorable roles: He gets abducted by guys from other schools a lot but no one actually shows up to save him; and his friends use his house as their gathering place. He worries about being a nobody, but he is an important character since the story doesn't work without his sharp questions.

Takeshi Hokuto
He's the heir to the Hokuto Foundation that is one of the major Zaibatsu (Japanese cartel) in Japan. His ambition was to control all the high schools in Japan using his father's power, and so he transferred to Cro-High, but it turned out that he actually made a mistake and transferred to the wrong school. By the time he realized his mistake, he was enjoying a fun school life with Kamiyama and his friends. Moreover, his habit of talking like a lord and his arrogant attitude make us sort of feel that he may be the one who has the biggest personality issues. There're often times that he digs his own grave by telling evasive lies.

Hokuto's Lackey
As you can see, he's a plain guy who transferred to Cro-High with Hokuto. His concern is simply not being able to tell anyone his name. As for Kamiyama and his friends, they don't even ask his name any more. As a result, it's inevitable that viewers will start to feel indiffrent as well. Besides that, he doesn't have any distinctive characteristics, and his one-person gang presence is getting weak. It's also funny to see him being envious when Maeda sometimes sticks out. I wonder what his name is...

Yutaka Takenouchi
He's a boss, commanding the Cromartie Year 1 guys, and he's respected even by the Year 3 guys. He is a super-boss who is an able fighter, considered reliable, and smart. But he has one weak point - he gets sick when riding any sort of transportation. Even though he gets motion sickness easily, he likes watching old temples and castles, and travling. When it has something to do with Kamiyama and transportation, he has bad experiences without fail, and there are indications that he keeps his distance from Kamiyama instinctively.

Masked Takenouchi
He's the man who intended to hijack the airplane that Cro-High was going to take to go on their school trip, and he switched places with Takenouchi at some point. No matter how you look at it, his outfit of a mask and school uniform is obviously suspicious, but he spends his school days without problem. Much to everyone's surprise, he's someone with a lot of common sense. According to him, he's spent time in prison in Mexico and is an internationally wanted criminal who would get imprisoned for at least 20 years if he gets caught now. Considering all that, aren't you attracting too much attention?

Mechazawa
Having both a steel body and passionate manliness, he is a prominent man among men in Cro-High. It's troublesome that students other than Kamiyama and his friends think of Mechazawa as a normal high school student. Inevitably, Kamiyama and his friends retain themselves from questioning him about it. Also, despite how he looks, it seems that he isn't good with machines. No matter how you look at him, he definitely looks like a tea caddy, but he's especially popular among girls. He's a real delinquent, sometimes riding a motorcycle and sometimes becoming a motocycle.

Freddie
Everything about him, such as his nationality and age, is unknown. There's also a question if he's really a Cro-High student, or even that he's a high school student to begin with. For some reason, he gets along well with Kamiyama and others. The name Freddie is something Kamiyama and others gave him without asking, but he doesn't seem bothered by it, it seems that either he likes it quite a bit or that it happens to be his real name by accident.

Gorilla
No matter how you look at him, he's a gorilla, but it looks like he's going to Cro-High. In a way, compared to other characters in this show, he's a man with a great deal of common sense. It seems that he's highly intelligent and understands the language...probably. He wears a watch and also makes full use of a cell phone. If you just glance at him, you could say that he's a businessman...but he's a gorilla.

Yamaguchi Noboru
He is the boss of Year 1 at Cro-High's rival school, Destrade Technical High School. He is a comedy nut but he has a dilemma. He can't tell others about it because his image as a boss with tough looks proceeds him. In any case, he is particular about comedy and especially hates careless sex jokes. He is a reqular contributor to late night radio shows and his pen-name is Ajishio Taro. He respects his fellow postcard artisan Honey Boy, which is actually Kamiyama, and he feels a passionate rivalry with Kamiyama.

Jun Ishikawa
He's Yamaguchi's Lackey and more or less plays the role of Yamaguchi's #2 man. However, the sole reason for his existence is to play the guy who gets beaten up by Yamaguchi. It seems that his sense of humor doesn't match with Yamaguchi's and he keeps getting beaten up because of the jokes he tells. But if you look at things a diffrent way, you could see it as standup comedy by a duo with a good tempo. His charming point is that he doesn't even have a clue that he's getting beaten up because his jokes arn't funny.
