button brim tassel tam
bulky wool/hemp handspun yarn by [info]pippikneesocks
6.5mm & 9mm hooks

handspun wool/hemp tassel tam

I had a hard time photographing this one.. check my flickr album for more views.

the yarn worked up like a dream, springy and soft, beautiful colors blended with the interesting texture of hemp among the plies. I enjoyed every moment making this .. dc stitch and a tassel show off the yarn to its best advantage.
the 134 yard hank Pippi sent was just enough to make a tam to fit average head size ~22 1/2".
thanks [info]pippikneesocks for giving me a chance to experience some really great yarn :)

What a great color! I like how the button is setting off the other colors in the yarn.

yeah pippi was thinking "boy hat" when she sent the yarn, and thats where it started.. but I just had to put the wood with those colors. and I love the way the tassel makes the yarn look, too, where you can more easily see the plies.

thanks! I was thinking tam or earflaps.. wasnt sure I'd have enough though.
I used almost every inch of that precious yarn.

working with it also gave me some ideas for using the more 'out there' stuff, like the coils.. blahblah blah hmmm.
