I am making a cloth diaper cover right now with Lion Brand wool... it is striped white and dark teal.

If I felt it (just in the washing machine with hot water), will the teal stain the white? I didn't think about this in advance... in fact I decided I didn't want to felt it so I started making it the "right" size but it actually looks like its going to be too big.

After a feeble attempt at Googling "how to felt a crochet project" I'm still a bit muffled with the idea.  Do you buy anything special to make it felted, or does just washing it make it fuzzy and felted?  I'm very confused.
