Hm.

Ok ladies (and gentlemen), I have a question.

I was looking up crochet stitches to get an idea for something new to try with my fiance's blanket (my "new" thing was the ripple stitch, but I've done 1 1/2 blankets with it already, so I'm thinking it's time for something new).

I went to Lion Brand's stitch finder page and was thrilled to find the following stitches:

http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/faq-search.cgi?store=/stores/eyarn&faqKey=288&language=

This was, of course, before I realized they were knitted stitches -.-;

SO! I had wanted to ask you lovely ladies (and handsome gentlemen) for your advice. Is there a way to convert a knitting pattern / stitch into a crocheted one? Does anyone know of a way?

Failing that, does anyone have any interesting stitches that I can try? (Hopefully similar to the links about, but if not, I'll take what I can get). Bonus points for something not listed on the lion brand's stitch finder section.

Thanks in advance everyone for any advice you might have =) I'll hopefully get a moment to take pictures of the two blankets (one in red with a ripple stitch for my Mom for Mother's Day, and one in burnt orange and green for my sister-in-law's birthday).

Current Mood: bouncy

Pattern Question

I hope this is allowed, I saw this image on a design website recently, and have been through hundreds of 'granny square' patterns trying to figure out which was used here, it doesn't look complicated, so maybe I'm just missing something in the patterns I looked at that would create that frame-like shape of the yellow yarn.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!
