Aloha. Welcome to the Critikitiki Hut, somewhere over the rainbow, where all the dreams you dare to dream might come true.

This community is geared towards screenwriters (but any writer will do really), who oft live the life of a hermit, but long for a community to: share, discuss, critique and learn about work.

Magic things which can happen in this Shire of Dreams:

Original Work Posts. Post your work and get some feedback, real panel style.

Screenwriting Lessons: How do you write a script? Learn about format, the how-to’s and breakdowns of a scene, what software to use, the meaning of life, etc.

Screenwriting Prompts: Using provided prompts, write 2 – 4 page scripts which can be posted and discussed.

Script Discussion: Have a script you just read and loved? Good screenwriting book? Good movie? Share away. Portions of published screenplays quoted, names of books dropped and movie scenes are analyzed.

Getting Over Fences: Have a script idea, ready to pitch it? We’re here to help you get it started. Have characters you want to discuss? Bring it on. Completely stuck in the middle? This community is here to help push you over on through to the other side.

Because without them, it would be “Lord of the Flies” all over the place.

1. Do not post asking for feedback, if you haven’t or have no desire to help and support other members of the group in the same manner. You can’t get something for nothing you know. We’re givers here.

2. Always respectful. Hateful, homophobic, racist or otherwise needlessly negative material will not be tolerated. If you post work of a more adult nature, be courteous to the younglings who might be browsing and make use of the lj cut. You have been forewarned. I have sensibilities of iron (thank you art school), so if it offends me, it will be bahleted. I will hold true to this “at will” clause.

3. Original work only please! No fanfiction. I’m sorry. It’s fab, it’s great, there are other places for your NC-17 melodrama starring Snape and Elrond. Really.
