| About: | Ever gotten tired of feeling like you never get in depth, brutally honest critique of your fanfiction? Welcome to Calliope's Palace, listed at LJ under crit_palace. This is a community dedicated to honest criticism and critique, the aim to enjoy really good fanfiction and to improve our writing in the process. Oh, and fun, of course :) Some things you should probably know: 1. Pieces can come from any Stargate series, and any genre. 2. Pieces can be friendship, team, ship, slash - anything. 3. We feel we should make sure everyone's aware that the purpose of this comm. is to get completely honest feedback - we're going to trust that everyone's polite about it, but that doesn't mean it'll all be complimentary. 4. You don't have to read, write or comment to be a member and enjoy the fics. It'd be great if everyone did all three, but there's no pressure. The rules (not very many of them, but we are going to stick to them and moderate to make sure others do): 1. All pieces MUST be prefaced with appropriate warnings and rated for age suitability (i.e. G, PG, R, NC-17). For example look below. 2. All pieces MUST be prefaced with appropriate spoiler warnings, with particular regard to SG-1 s10, SGA s3 and s4, Ark of Truth and Continuum. For example look below. 3. All pieces posted directly to the comm. must be posted under an LJ cut - no chewing up everyone's flist. 4. Finally, and this one's important: NO flames allowed! To make this clear, objecting to a Sam/Jack story because you feel the characterisation of Sam and Jack renders the portrayed relationship out of character IS all right, so long as it's not phrased in a way that's personally offensive. Objecting to a story ONLY on the grounds that it is Sam/Jack - or slash, or NC-17, or anything else for that matter - is NOT. This is the point of a well-written warnings and summary section. This is a multi-shipping, multi-everything comm. Ship wars and flaming will not be tolerated.
