Horse MD
Mr. Ed was never like this. Watch the humorous/poignant adventures of Doctor Gregory, a talking horse who has become an ace veteranarian following a tragic accident ended his racing career and the decision was made not to put him to sleep by his overly-doting owner. Now he treats other horses and animals with a mixture of wit and anger and his growing reliance on PCP. All the fillies have eyes for him, despite his flaws but he only wants to roll in the grass with his former trainer, Mr. Wilson, who's a bit of a stud himself.

Omg.
Colony? End Game?
PWNAGE?!?!?!?!
That was awesome.
Oh, oh - I didn't forget you, geonncannon! As soon as Excelsis Dei started, I was like "Wait one goddamn second... TERYL!!!! TERYL TERYL TERYL!!!" having never seen her in ANYTHING before, only from your fangirling. Teehee.
sparklebunny - In response to your commenty list of goodness re: fav eps. The Host I don't remember anything hugely awesome from (because I am SEMI BRAINDEAD!) but I really enjoyed it. There was something really comforting about muttering "Sewage farming..." under my breath every few scenes. The Duane Barry arc just... okay, whoa. Your experience of the show must be SO different to everyone elses, having started there. FUCKING FREAKY. Esp. that weird pregnant/not pregnant thing. But no spoilers! Oh, I'm such a creep. Aubrey was pretty good, I liked BJ. Except at the end when she was just SCARY. Irresistable was so, so awesome. I love this show because they keep playing on Scully being female. I mean, I know they can't NOT but Mulder is always ushering her around, keeping her out of trouble, she keeps getting attacked and kidnapped and threatened and, of course, she's a freaking midget so I guess it's not ALL the writers. But they really can't stop themselves! I would be offended and call them all male chauvinists but I enjoy it so much. And I posted about the one with the odd German name <-- lazy.
As you can see, I rly, rly need more DVDs. I'm going to be finished by tomorrow night! Ahhh!
Mum's watching some of these with me. I'm kinda weird about watching my shows by myself (mainly because people who get that you have to SHUT UP and fangirly comments have to be well timed so nothing is missed are all online and that isn't helpful... though our commentary of that New Tricks episode was fucking classic) but I watched The Host and Blood with her and she seemed to enjoy them. She still thinks I'm obsessive and weird and SHE'S normal but yeah. It's probably true.
I r want Gillian. Very, very pretty.
Which is funny because normally? An English woman called Gillian? No wai. Well, fair enough she isn't ENGLISH but she really kinda is. Or, at least, I find her more convincing that way. Anyway, losing track. Wait, I already lost track. Um, explaining this one will just fry all your brains. Don't worry about it.
Oh and 11:21? Yeah...

Okay, Die Hand Die Verletzt totally rocks.
Laura Harris looking so adorable and also NOT being an alien! They like using her as a high school student, no? And then Dan Butler... BEING SERIOUS! Oh, how awesome it was.
The beginning was the best. Totally. Satanic PTA? Um, YES!
Oh but someone should tell them - it's "Ah-zah-ZUL" not "Ah-ZAY-zul". But I know Americans have a thing for mispronunciation (AHA WATCH ME BE RACIST WATCH WATCH)
And hey, deliriums_fish - did you name that pic of Bebe dancing with Angelo Teh Pretty in Here Lies Jenny 'falling frogs!' after rewatching this episode? Because... falling frogs! Well, toads.
Oh and I can't not mention the adorable ship that was Mulder trying to protect Scully with his body, even though he was tied up, they had a shotgun and they were both so dead.

Cam/Birembau, y/y?
I still reckon he should be played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr Eko) because I totally reckon he can do sweet and not threatening but hey, w/e.

I just found this on AfterEllen: When I spoke with ER's executive producer, John Wells, on the set of ER earlier this week, he told me that he's in touch with Laura "all the time" because she also directs episodes of the long-running series, "and I'm very hopeful she'll come back this season. ... I think it'll probably happen."

Welcome back, paperclipbitch. Her brilliancy is posting again at kohl_rimmed_eye and also gracing us with new House Fic and new Torchwood Fic. Both stories are totally angst-ridden, witty, full of character insights and devoid of fluff or schmoop. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!
*****
Coming up on three weeks off sugar/caffeine and way down on carbs in general. Gym every day this week, although two of those were "assessment with the trainer" days. Veggie juice in the AM, a salad from MixtGreens for lunch, and protein/fruit/veggies for dinner. The night eating is still a problem, but I'm going to get through it. I'm back into a pair of jeans today. They're tight, but manageable.
*****
Farmer's market at the Ferry Building tomorrow, so I can pick up some really good produce instead of the super-market crap. Although it should be noted that California supermarket crap is still eons better than supermarket crap in New Jersey. The last few times I've gone home, I've been appalled at what passes for fruits and veggies in the Garden State.
*****
hannahorlove, you win! It looks like I'm going to do squats.
*****
My face has gone blotchy. Now that I'm not stress eating, it's attacking my skin from the inside
*****
I got today's Problem Child #1 drama resolved before noon. (Mind you, I've been obsessing about it since I left work yesterday, but at least it's done and I don't have to think about it over the weekend.)
*****
Hubby and I are by-passing the The Dark Knight vs Mama Mia dilemma and going to see Hellboy II tomorrow. That should be fun.
*****
Christan Bale: WTF?
*****
Waves to everybody who is enjoying Comic Com right now, including "Threesome Girl" and "The one made John and Naoko sing," both of whom are most cooly on my F-list. On some level, I'd love to be down there with you getting to see everybody, but I just don't think my fangirlishness could overcome my claustrophia and general crankiness in the face of crowds. (Besides which, I wouldn't want John to see me with my splotchy face.)
*****
Gotta rec this Life On Mars fic by the seriously kick-ass mikes_grrl who has single-handedly restored my faith in multi-parters and written a threesome fic that I wouldn't have believed could possibly work, but does. The angst flows like wine, but there is a great resolution, and the HOT, OMG I should not have been been reading this stuff on PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!
Dinner Date Part 1 Dinner Date Part 2 Dinner Date Part 3 Dinner Date Part 4
***** John McCain? WTF? Seriously. If the democrats can't win this time around, we may not deserve to.

I gakked totally stole this from Meganlynn09:
Pick a fictional character from a fandom I know and I'll answer the following questions:
01) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character. 02) Is he/she important to the general plot? 03) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally? 04) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from? 05) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic) 06) Is there anything about the character you would change? 07) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc) 08) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites? 09) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom? 10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

It's going around again, this time ganked from stellaluna_
If there are one or more people on your friends list who make your world a better place just because they exist, and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the Internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

"Is this a library?"
Asked just now by a woman on the upper rungs of middle age. She totally ignored the giant sign that says, "Clifton Comics and Games". I don't mind questions about what we sell, but totally ignoring that we sell anything at all is a little silly.

I haven't done these in ages!
thefridayfive - What type of hair do you have? (Thin, Normal, Thick, Frizzy, etc.)
From what I was last told, thick hair.
- What color is your hair currently?
Pretty much my natural color, as I've been letting it grow out since I colored it in January. And natural color is a light mousy brown with a healthy dose of blonde and red highlights.
- What colors have you dyed/highlighted your hair?
Black once, blonde twice [once was highlights that ended up getting out of hand], and various shades of red countless times.
- If you could dye your hair any color, what would it be?
I prefer red, tho' my dream dye job is brassy strawberry blonde with blonde highlights and purple lowlights.
- What is your hair's length?
About to my shoulderblades, I'd guess now. Or at least mostly to that length.. Not including the shaved stuff, of course.
altfriday5- Who was the last new person you met? What were the circumstances?
I guess it'd be the new girl on the team at work?
- What was the last meeting you attended? What were the circumstances?
As often as we get newbies on the team?
- How often do you meet new people, in general? Why?
It really depends. I don't meet people as much as I probably should...
- How often do you attend meetings, in general? Why?
Well, we have the team meeting once a week at work...
- Describe your nightmare meeting and your dream meeting.
It would really depend on what the meeting is about, to be honest...
fannish5 :: Name five plot points/arcs you hated in fandoms you ordinarily love.- Rachel's vascillation over believing in the Dark Side on Poltergeist: the Legacy
- Barbara & Wade / Helena & Reese on Birds of Prey
- Abby/Luka on ER
- Daniel's Ascension & return to Earth on Stargate SG1
- Scone-Boy on Women's Murder Club
I'm sure there are others I could come up with, but these were the first five...in order, even...

July 25, 2008 In the Name of Love: Africa Celebrates U2 Various Artists 2007
( The music of Irish rock band U2 has been an inspiration around the world for decades, as has lead singer Bono's tireless campaigning on the behalf of beleaguered African nations (he's become a respected UN ambassador of goodwill). )
July 25, 2008Learning To Recognize PotentialSagittarius Daily Horoscope( You may feel more creative and intellectually flexible than usual today ) July 25, 2008Feeling ThreatenedAfraid Of The TruthMost of us have had the experience of being in possession of a piece of truth that we were afraid to share because we knew it would not be well received. There are also instances in which we ourselves have been unable to handle some truth confronting us. This might be a small truth, such as not wanting to see that our car needs repairs because we don’t want to pay for them, or a large truth, such as not fully accepting that someone close to us is pushing us away. Usually the truth is evident, and we can see it if we choose, but we have elaborate ways of hiding the truth form ourselves, no matter how apparent it is. For the most part, we avoid the truth because it scares us, or makes us angry, or makes us feel like we don’t know what to do. We often create our lives based on a particular understanding, and if that understanding turns out to be fully or even partially incorrect, we may feel that our whole sense of reality is being threatened. It takes a strong person to face the truth in circumstances like these, and many of us run for cover instead. Nevertheless, we can only avoid the truth for so long before it begins to make itself known in ever more forceful ways. Ultimately, there is no way to avoid the truth, no matter how painful it is, so the sooner we let down our defenses, the better. When we know the truth and accept that we may have to adjust our lives to accommodate, we are in alignment with reality. At the same time, we can be patient with people around us who have a hard time seeing the truth, because we know how painful it can be. Whatever the truth is, we make a sincere effort not to close our eyes to it, but instead to be grateful that we have access to it.
