Hey Guys..

I just joined the community looking for some feedback and suggestions. I have been hired by a co-worker to do some maternity shots this weekend. It's really outside of my normal ways of doing things, but with a new baby on the way; hiring a professional is just out of the question for them. So I said sure I will do it.

I have my poses laid out, a fair mix between creative & traditional. I already advised my client that I will not shoot any nudes, and she did not want any. So thanks for that.

My question is, has anyone ever done a maternity shoot? What would you suggest as far as props if needed, poses, what should I bring in my kit bag? I'm charging her minimal and told her I's shoot till she was happy or 2 hours. Which ever comes first :)

I'm more looking for creative aspects than traaditional at this point.

I am going to have her have her babys blanket, shoes and hopefully she still has her pregnancy test laying around. I was thinking of bringing my 50mm f/1.8, 18-55mm 3.6 and 55-200mm IS lens.
I havent decided with her yet if she wants to do it outside, or inside - but will bring some white sheets for a backdrop.

Got a feeling inside recently. And it was bugging me somehow, not allowing to make photography as I used to do it. Inspired and impressed...And I could not understand what it was.

And guess what. It was the desire to learn more. I was just unsatisfied with where I'm stuck. Need a movement foreword, with a bigger amplitude. Similar to the wave of the mountain in this picture.

Now I'm reading new stuff, and old stuff dipper. There is no life without movement towards something. And this is in anything we do.

Butterfly Palace Shots

I just completed some composite images for the promotion of the Butterfly Palace in Branson. For those that ask "do I use photoshop on my photos" most of the time I only do basic adjustments but sometimes I make it all happen in photoshop. Obviously these images are not reality. They are the results of two days of shooting and about that much time in front of the computer. They will be used in promo and billboards to promote their butterfly, creature, and mirror maze attractions.

I am happy and so is the Palace :)
