What are your major interests? What do you love? What do you hate?

Everything from Tim Burton, and same dark but creative films. My favourite now is Sweeney Todd, and I've just seen Charlie and the chocolate factory again, it was nice to see it again. And I loved the new Batman film! Christian Bale is a great actor. Heath Ledger too, may he rest in peace. I love the acting of Gerard Butler, Anthony Hopkins, Morgan Freeman and many more.
Music:
wide range of this one. I like old songs like born to be wild or house of the rising sun, but I grew up with metallica and red hot chilli peppers in my hifi. MUSIC: A huge smattering of stuff…I listen to some pop, rock, folk, metal, punk (I especially love female fronted punk bands)….the list keeps going and going. I tend to obsess over one or two bands/artists at a time and then move on to something else.

MOVIES: Foreign films, especially from Germany or France, though I love some of the stuff I’ve seen from elsewhere as well (Run Lola Run, The Princess and the Warrior, Metropolis, Goodbye Lenin, Amelie, The City of the Lost Children), all of the Harry Potter movies so far with the exception of possibly The Goblet of Fire, slightly more obscure (?) independent movies like Me and You and Everyone We Know.

TV: The L Word, Queer as Folk, Land and Order: SVU, Lost, Heroes, Weeds, The Tudors, Ugly Betty, Pushing Daisies, Six Feet Under, etc.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR:

a handful of pen pals from anywhere. I’m open to any age or gender of people with similar interests. I’m not looking for romance; I’m not sure if anyone here would ask about that but thought I’d put that out there. I would hope that my pen pals would write letters similar in length to my own (see above) but I’m really not a stickler for page length. Religion/Beliefs: Believe strongly in being a good person and making the world a better place around me to live for not only myself. Believe in some sort of higher being or higher power, but not entirely sold on the idea of religion. Spiritual and not really willing to discuss this side of myself with anyone.
Looking For: A penpal who will get to know me/let me get to know them, but also participate in a sort of story building letter writing thing. I start, you add, I add more, you finish it. I will not post lists of my favourite music, books, movies and TV shows because honestly, how does it matter? But just to shock you... I like bands/singers as varied as Avril Lavigne to Tegan & Sara and Ani DiFranco, I like TV shows ranging from Gossip Girl to Full House, I like movies as diverse as the Matrix trilogy to Loving Annabelle, I like books that go all the way from Harry Potter to Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (that was for my school course, but anyway.) Mmhm hmmhm.

Interests: listening to music, watching movies and TV shows, WRITING, reading, beaches, philosophy, psychology, dreams, love in the time of loneliness, art (painting, drawing, sketching, making collages, working with charcoal particularly), penpalling&friending, livejournalling, blogging, making new friends, meeting new people (except here.. where there seem to be no interesting people, intolerant as I may seem), shopping, posing in front of the mirror, daydreaming, eating out, eating in general (yep, I've gained too much weight lately..)...

Why I like to be my independent, individual self: I don't think I could be entirely independent, but I hate to be overly dependent. I don't think anyone can be entirely independent without living outside of society entirely. And much as I hate many social norms, I wouldn't like to live outside of society either. I defend my so-called suspect individualism and uniqueness to the death. I like to work by myself most of the time, rather than in groups. I'm not always that good at it, but I'm working on that. I aspire to be someone who doesn't have to depend on her parents for anything, though that's more because I don't love my parents that much anymore. Maybe not at all.

Characteristics of my future penpals:
+ should be between the ages of 13-25, generally. If you really want to be my penpal but you fall outside of this age range, comment here or on my FO post and give a good reason for why I should add you.
+ NOT paedophilic, stalkerish, homophobic, racist, cruel, sadistic, mean or looking for cybersex
+ doesn't matter what gender or where you're from
+ should be willing to deal with teenagery angst and brutal honesty, among other things.

I won't post any pictures here because honestly you've got to give me more credit than that. But I will post pictures occasionally on my journal. I just started this journal so forgive me for not having many posts yet. But I will soon, I promise.

One of my goals for 2008, is by february 2008 to have over 30 penpals :]
I'm not doing this for the fun of having 30 penpals, I'm doing this because I want to achieve 30 penpal fantastic relationships.
By penpals I mean: regular letters! not one introduction, one reply and no letters since (i get a lot of these) I need 21 more to complete this and since it's nearly christmas already... I better get going!
