This is a note to let you know that resource links, as well as a few others, have been added to the web site; included in these links are links to Livejournals that people have dedicated to a specifc story/series/character. So far only seven, including myself, have filled out the simple form, which means there are a good number of you who haven't. So far the following have filled out the form:

[info]neneithel
[info]kaybrooke
[info]cherith
[info]another_myself
[info]gypsylover
[info]bobjanova
[info]awritersfantasy

If you haven't filled the form out in a comment, please take the time to do so and comment in this entry with the following info:

1) Name:

2) Main Livejournal:

3) How many Livejournals do you have for writing? (Please use the <*lj-user> tag, and give a URL to the Livejournal):

A) Which are for a specific story/series?
B) Are any for general writing that you’ve written in the past/randomly wrote?

4) Do you have any sites off of Livejournal for a specific story/series/general writing?

A) What is the link?

5) Are you searching for a beta reader (maybe permanently) for that story?

6) Please give us a small summary of what your journal (the one you use for writing) is about, and maybe what you're looking for in critiques from others.

If you have any web sites that are writing-specific (not necessarily yours, but other web sites such as NaNoMo, etc), I will be coming up with a small amount of questions for you to fill out so that you can place any links you've found/will find in comments and they can be placed on the web site, so please be on the lookout for it!

Thanks!

It may be a while until I'm back online on a regular basis, though I'm taking the laptop with us when we evacuate from Pensacola tomorrow. I'll catch up then.

It doesn't matter how long it takes, really, just as long as you do it. I'm not placing a deadline on when it needs to be done because new members will join in the future, although I could do one for current members. -Shrug- I'm not in a rush, just as long as people fill it out at some point for me.

A) Which are for a specific story/series? I have one for that, but I decided I don't want it open to the public just yet. So, um, none. I'll get back to you on that.
B) Are any for general writing that you’ve written in the past/randomly wrote? Yep! That would be the one I posted above, [info]words_forsaken

4)Do you have any sites off of Livejournal for a specific story/series/general writing? My website, forsakenrain.net will have all of the above when I finally finish the new layout.

5) Are you searching for a beta reader (maybe permanently) for that story? Not yet, but soon.

6) Please give us a small summary of what your journal (the one you use for writing) is about, and maybe what you're looking for in critiques from others. Umm, it's just basically a place I post random things I write... whether it be fanfiction, fantasy, poems.. ect. I really like it when people critique it, and tell me what they think. I hate it when people just say it's good because that doesn't help me.

Sorry that took so long Danielle! Figured I'd get this up before I leave.

It's basically a place for me to write absolutely anything, post anything, etc. that has to do with my writing. I haven't posted anything from my actual book because I'm paranoid and it's not ready yet. It's really just filled with a lot of free-write things such as drabbles, fanfiction and short random scenes from several of my characters.

my live journal comminity/journal is where i post my work, mostly short stories, as well as where i chart the progress of turning my novel into a book (it's been accepted for publciation) and am looking for grammatical help in particular, but also whether it works well/makes sense. i am also looking for people willing to proof my novels, but that won't be posted on communitys for the fact that it is too long to read comfortably online.

Umm...okay. I saw that you were a member of [info]find_me_a_beta and didn't really care...but it surprised me to all hell when you requested to join [info]creativefantasy. The only reason why I haven't yet approved you is because I'm not entirely sure if I should because of the...differences we've had in the past. I could go with my moderator/creator duty and just approve you and see how it goes, but on the other hand...I don't know whether or not to trust if you'll make trouble even by a simple critique based on your own opinion. I'm not trying to judge you on anything other than what I had to deal with in the past. We don't post many writings here, so I don't think there'll be much trouble in that area, unless you become the beta reader for someone else/someone becomes a beta reader for you and there's conflict between the two of you.

I'm going to try and wait until I can talk to at least one of the other mods before I approve or deny your application to join and see what they say. The last thing we all need is more LJ drama, and I have little doubt that it would eventually happen. I know that sounds harsh, but like I said, I'm judging it based on past experience with you, which isn't necessarily the right thing to do, but at the same time...it's hard not to.

So, I'm done babbling. Hopefully you'll understand where I'm coming from and just be patient while I try to figure out what to do.

well don't accept me. its up to you. there are more than enough critique places out there and as it goes, i have no real intention of critiquing people. your thing said, i could look for beta, which is all i actually want. i dont' like critiquing work, esp after being told a lot of nonsence by people who do not like me giving my opinion and that is all a critique can EVER be. an opinion.

drama ONLY exists in a situation where people do not let me give my opinion. i say what i think, i always have. people expect me to lie, or sugar coat things, and i am not prepared to do that. drama then follows because they disagree with me and seem to want me to change my mind to suit theirs, to reinforce their own paranoia. if people were comfortable with what they were saying, or secure in their own abilities OR open minded enough, then drama wouldn't happen. they would simply accept that what i say is my opinion and they don't have to listen to it or pay it any attention.

so yeah, to be honest, don't include me. i had no idea you were mod of this thing, or i wouldn't have bothered and as it goes, if you're not even aware that critiques are ALWAYS opinion and can never be anything else, then i am not sure why you are running a critique community! i am not here to pander to other people's insecurities. i say what i think and people can either accept it or ignore it and if they are too sensitive to ignore it, then they probably shouldn't be posting their work at all.

so yeah, that might sound rude, i dont' mean it to, but to be honst, your whole thing pissed me off! (though i am sure you dont mean to) but you clearly have the wrong idea about me, a biased opinion based on what i think i can remember (sue me, i can't remember exactly who you are!) which you are now seeing completely from your side without accepting that there is another side to it and a completely naive idea about what critiquing is, if you think it isn't opinion

i am always polite in my critiques, i am always helpful but i will always say what it hink. and it is only when people disagree and start insisting that i change my mind and accept their point of view that i will get pissy. so if that happened in the past with you, then you now know why. its because you culdn't just accept that i had a different point of view and be done with it.

so yeah. i won't join. no point, plenty of other places, i own a fair few of them, and i dont' want to have to worry abotu my honest opinion offending a few over sensitive people.

[info]awritersfantasy talked about letting you join the community and if you are still interested please, by all means, join. It's unfair to deny anyone membership because of past occurances or personal feelings. This is a community to better each other and help one another as writers, not to judge and let personal feelings get in the way. I'm sure that [info]awritersfantasy has lots to say after your comment, but it may just be a good idea to stop this before it gets out of hand. For [info]awritersfantasy's sake, we just have one request, and that's to try to remain polite to all of the members, and try not to cause any LJ-drama, as I'm sure none of us need it. I'm not accusing you of anything, certainly not, but it needs to be said to keep all parties happy.

Again, if you still want to join, you're more then welcome and we'd love to have you here. If not, then I apologize and hope you find another community more to your liking.

Well, here's the thing about this community. The point of the community isn't mainly for critiquing. You post your introduction, your request for a beta reader or your offer to be a beta reader, and you wait for people to comment. You then contact each other and start sending off your chapters to be critiqued. So, really, the only way I would flip out on you is if you said/did something really harsh to one of the other members or something, or if I were to be the one to beta read for you. I'm not particuarly interested in doing so at the moment since I'm betaing another member's story while she beta's mine, but once you post the info about the story you want critiqued, I may or may not be interested, I don't know. From what I remember reading a while back and what you told me, it seemed like a good idea.

And for the record, it is me you're thinking of. The first part wasn't entirely my fault because we didn't see eye to eye, but I admit that the second part in the other community we're both members of was mainly my fault. If it makes you feel any better, I'm not even working on the story I posted in your community anymore, so it doesn't really matter. I hope you'll be mature enough to put the past and most of the things I said in my original comment in the past. I was hesitant to let you join for mentioned reasons, but hopefully that won't interfere with your membership here and cause unwanted drama.

i am and its fine. like i said to someone else, i didn't even recognise your name, because i tend to forget things and move on. and it makes no difference to me whether you work on the story or not. i don't think the story was bad, just that one name aspect of it.

so yeah, ok, forget it all :)
and what i would be asking for help on, i have no idea yet. my novel has been accepted for publication, so it will probably be book 2/3 or short stories. but i dunno at the moment. i just joined as a possiblity for future type thing :)

I'm just going to add one thing in, and then I'll shut up.

I will accept you into the community, and let it go from there. If you don't want to be a member anymore, fine, and you can unjoin and we can go our seperate ways. If you want to stay as a member, I'm fine with it. I was hesitatnt about letting you in because of the past, but [info]forsakenrain made some good points when she and I talked.

I'm tempted to say more, but I won't, though I'm tempted to ask one thing out of curiosity. I'll go and accept you into the community and you'll be free to make your requests for beta readers for your story and what-not. I hope you don't put this against me, because, really, I'm not a bad person, and I'm not a bad writer, and I do know what I'm doing with this community, as well as my other communities and my writing. Writing is a learning process. You learn from each other, and from yourself.

yes. ok you do. i just didnt' appreciate any of these posts implying that i had created drama and that i had been rude and unreasonable, because you were the one who stirred it up a second time and wouldn't let it go the first. and i never said you were a bad writer, it was just that one idea.

and i still stand by what i said tho, if you don't think that opinion has any place in critiquing then you dont' know a lot about critiquing.

but i can leave it at this, if you can.

teh thing is, i WAS polite the last time. and i was the one who told her to stop posting, she was the one who continued and then raked it up months later in another community!

i think she is the one who needs to remain polite, to be honest, and to nto cause drama as she was the one who created it BOTH times! because i am ALWAYS polite when giving critiques, i NEVER want to cause offense! she didn't like my opinion and wouldn't accept that i was allowed to have it. she harrassed me, she got her friends to harrass me, and she harrassed me about it months later in another community. i hardly call that polite or avoiding drama.
