What do you hate that everyone else seems to like?
That's easy. Twilight. No, seriously, I hate it with a passion. Cliché right? I’m a Slayer that hates a story about vampires. Don't even get me started on the "love" story and I use that term loosely. It is so not fun to be on the receiving end of stalker love. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Okay fine, I'll admit that my relationship with Spike was super complicated with stalking undertones and we ended up as sort of friends. I may have issues substituting him and Angelus in the role of Edward but come on ---. Who finds that sexy?
Vampires are not sexy or cool and no, it's not sour grapes after the whole Harmony got a reality show and became a celebrity thing. Though please, Harmony?!?!
How am I supposed to save people if they think that vampires are so great? It's hard enough to do it now with the Goths and wannabes out thereand the Harmony Action Doll on the Shopping network. Now there are teenagers (and their mothers ewwwww) who fantasize about their own Edward. GAH!
Oh! Another thing, VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE. Seriously, who comes up with this stuff?

Preparing a holiday meal
It had to be perfect. There really was no other option for her. It was the first Thanksgiving after her mom died and she was not going to have the Indians taking revenge on Sunnydale fest. There would be no apocalypse, there would be no demons or ghosts or anything else supernatural to ruin it. It was going to be a Hallmark holiday, damn it and Buffy would make sure of it. Even if she had to stake every vampire, decapitate every demon and exorcise every ghost.
Buffy ran the preparations as if she was a general in the field of battle. Assignment had been given and she'd micromanaged to make sure they were completed perfectly. Oh, she saw the dirty looks and heard the whisperings but there was no way she was going to fall down in this so she ignored them. Her relationship with Dawn was spiraling out of control. She couldn't be the mother her sister needed, especially when she needed it just as badly herself. They were both floundering without their anchor and it was hard, but this she could do. After all, how hard was it to make a perfect holiday meal? Martha Stewart did it all the time. Then again, Martha didn't live over a Hellmouth.

It was one of the many things that Rose loved about the Doctor. Those little things that he got wrong and the banter that they would go through to get around his admitting that he was wrong. She supposed with all the traveling through time and space that he did, being off a year to a nine hundred year old man would make it a bit of an ish. Twelve hours to him was the same as twelve months for her. The seventeenth century was close enough to the twenty first century in his mind.
For her, it just made their traveling that much more exciting. You literally never knew what would be outside the TARDIS doors. You might be expecting New Italy on a far away planet in a distant time and get eighteenth century Wales, but it would still be an adventure. It would still be full of excitement and fun. Even the TARDIS' glitches were fun. She couldn't count the number of times that she'd fallen arse over teakettle when the TARDIS landed but no matter the times, Rose would be laughing.
Every day was an adventure with the Doctor and she wouldn't miss it for the world, glitches or no.

Overhear a conversation
The negotiations had been delicate, the White Court and the Jade Court hadn't had reason for interactions in centuries. Both parties preferred it that way. Lara, however, had a different agenda. She was not her father and while he was still the puppet and she had to be careful, she slipped in her own agenda from time to time. Those little hints of who was really in charge was subtle and were only noticed if you knew Lara very well. Very few people did which helped in the camouflage.
She was presently sitting at a table in a small airport lounge sipping tea. Unlike wizards that traveled through the Nevernever, Lara preferred her private jet for travel. She especially preferred the VIP lounge in which she was waiting. Her light eyes traveled around the room, looking for a prospective meal. The succubus barely paid attention to the men and women that were staring at her, trying to get her attention. She was focused on a group of men sitting nearby. What caught her attention of those men rather than the others was the knowledge that one of them was a virgin. That was a delicacy for the White Court and they were rare but that paled in comparison to what they were talking about. The Karmic Circle.
Eyes that had been sultry and predatory had suddenly become alert. The conversation wasn't philosophical in nature, it was descriptive. They were planning to use the power one could find there. Flashes of a memory, something that she'd tucked away in the back of her mind, suddenly came to the surface. Ebony dark hair, full lips, a calculating smile and an essence that exuded power. There was the barest hint of a smile as she realized the future was now, the steps to the dynasty that she'd wanted to create began with this one, an overheard conversation.

Blood is thicker than water
There are few things that you can count on in this life and one of them is that Harry will do something because it involves family. Family is a weakness for Harry, one that can be exploited. Justin DuMorne did when he took a young boy out of an orphanage and became his mentor. He molded and used Harry's need to have that family connection even if it wasn't blood. Family can also be a strength. Ebenezar McCoy, took the battle scarred and cynical man that Harry had become under the tutelage of DuMorne and crafted a phoenix out of those ashes. Because of Ebenezar, Harry learned the whys of magic, the principles behind it. He became a man that would always do the right thing, even if it led to a war between Wizards and Vampires.
Family is also the reason that Harry takes so many risks. If anyone learned of the half-brother that he had, he would fall under the sword of a warden. The brother of a White Court Vampire would have all the appearance of the one behind the betrayals of the White Council of Wizards. With his history of dark magic, even if it was in self-defense, would tip the scales out of his favor. Rather than turn his back on Thomas which would have been the smart thing to do, Harry did the right thing. As Bianca once portrayed so brilliantly when she gave him a headstone. Harry will die because he did the right thing.

Have you ever lost anyone close to you?
Daniel sat in his lab, daydreaming. So much to catch up on now that Jonas had returned home, and he was back on SG1. His memories were slowly returning, sometimes gently, sometimes more forcefully.
His eyes lit on the picture of Sha’re, and he stopped for a moment, picking the frame up to look at the familiar features. He was dreaming of her more than he had before he’d ascended, that much he knew. Of nights sitting out under the stars of Abydos, laughing at the antics of the boys as they prepared for another shift watching the Stargate.
He sighed. He supposed he’d lost her three times now. The first when Apophis took her was the one that hurt, that still felt as if his heart was being ripped out if he thought about it. The second, when Teal’c killed her to save him, after that moment they shared.
The third time, when he realised firstly who she was, then what happened to her after he descended should have been the most painful. That moment of hope and love when he realised that yes, he had a wife, and yes, he loved her more than life itself, followed by searing loss when talking to Teal’c as he remembered what happened. But in some ways it was the best, and easier to cope with. The memories of her were fresh once again, and he knew that he loved her. But this time it was easier to move on, to accept her proper place as part of his past – to move on, starting afresh.

She hadn't been prepared. Despite the years that she'd spent in the village of Haurvatat and people coming and going with regularity, Willow hadn't been prepared for her own departure. She knew that it was inevitable and the actual leaving of the village hadn't been the problem. It had been the first night sleeping apart.
The empty pillow without the impression of someone sleeping on it when she first woke up in her dorm room had been the hardest. Though her body being used to sleeping next to his night after night had been equally hard to adjust. The majority of Willow's twenty years had been on her own, waking up to a solitary bed had been a part of her life that she gave it little thought. Until now. Now, she was keenly aware that Legolas wasn't beside her. It had been a month and waking up alone with Buffy quietly sleeping in the other bed in their dorm never got easier.
Willow lay on her bed for a moment, closing her eyes and recapturing the times that she'd spent in his arms. She felt the bond between them though it was as tenuous as a spider web, it was also very comforting. It made her more determined than ever to find her way back to him. She'd promised Giles and Legolas that she wouldn't put herself or others in danger and she wouldn't go back on that. She hadn't promised not to exhaust any means necessary though.
Her fingers came up to lightly play with two things that she had with her always. The amulet that Hrothbert had given her to find him no matter where he was and the token from D'Hoffryn. They were two powerful men and between them, she should be able to figure out a way to get to Legolas.

Okay first thing's first before I get my head chopped off. THIS IS JUST FANTATSY! I am not doing this, this is to answer a prompt and nothing more. /Disclaimer for heads up their asses Council.
Now on to the fun part. It would be the Merlin and no I wouldn't do anything dangerous to him just make him be less of an ass. Maybe embarrass the hell out of him. Let's see. I'd start by making him go to a hair salon. Oh, not a barber but an upscale salon where people have their dogs cut and died to match their latest outfit. Then it would be on to shopping. I'd dress him in goth wear. I wouldn't be mean and give him piercings and tatts to go with it, but I would do temporary ones. He's going to get a taste of walking in my shoes.
After the personal grooming is finished, I'd take him to a strip club. Not one owned by the Raiths or any other vampires, but a good old fashioned seedy, strip club where he can get a lap dance. That might loosen him up. I doubt it, but one can hope. I have a feeling that he hasn't been laid in probably centuries. It would explain a lot. Then after he's probably relaxed enough to enjoy himself (that might take centuries, too) I'd make him go to a Cubs game because I dare anyone not to have fun at one of those.
To top it all off, I'd make him write letters of apologies to everyone he was an ass to. Yeah, that'd take centuries, too. Since I only get a day we'll hit the main ones that should take the rest of the hours.
The caveat to all of this is that he has no idea I did this or if he does, I get a get out of jail free card with it. Though it would be worth a head chopping to see the Merlin gothed up and getting a lap dance.

We’re scavengers, really. Taking the flotsam and jetsam that the Rift sends us, working out what we can use, what we can’t. Dangerous. Safe. Good. Bad...
We get scared if we see someone use technology far in advance of what we have, and yet if they leave it behind, we pounce, like a big cat stalking its prey, taking it, using it, devouring it.
We scavenge.
Why?
Because, as Jack is so fond of saying, it’s the 21st century when everything changes. Events are happening faster than most of us can keep up with. The rift is bringing things through at an increasing rate. Somehow, we have to try and protect ourselves, even with the knowledge that one day we will fail. One day, we won’t be able to adapt fast enough, someone will come through with something so far in advance we cannot cope. But until that happens, we try. We have to – often we are the only thing standing between normality and anarchy.
So, we scavenge. And will continue to do so. It’s my job.

Shore leave was an exciting time for most of the crew of the Enterprise. Most of which with the exception of Data, who found himself dutifully manning the bridge with one other security officer and someone at ops. He didn't complain, though. While he enjoyed the curiosity of interaction between inhabitants and guests, he didn't quite have the desire (with or without emotion chip), to partake of the more carnal activities.
It was Monday night as well, and he was settled into the captain's chair shuffling a deck of cards between his hands. It would have been poker night, if everyone wasn't planetside. But now it was just him and a few straggling officers to keep the peace aboard a starship.
( 'You look bored,' an unexpected feminine, tart voice said off to the right of him. )
