Work just got in 'Daywatch'. SWEET! Now I get to see the sequel for free.
I also spoke to soon about the scoot. I just came off pretty hard because of skidding in the rain at some speed (and yes, I know it says 'do not use in wet conditions' on the thing but I thought that was just a suggestion).
I appear to be oozing this red liquid from several places. |

Well, I got my midterms (A in everything save Analytical Writing where I got a B), and a schedule that made me weep.
There are three classes I fear, CAD 2 (I’ve been told my numerous that it’s brutal), College Maths (since destroying my skills at maths for a lousy tenner from my dad, I’ve been deathly afraid of it), and Drafting 3 (because it’s wicked architectural and a massive workload).
Yes, you guessed, all three in the same quarter.
Fortunately, my math teacher is supposed to be wicked top. I got rid of CAD 2, and got Textiles and Fabrics instead (a great one because there’s two teachers for it. One of them is my current modelmaking teacher and everyone says her textiles class is such a mind numbing experience that coma is the general result of taking it (but most students mewl most about her armpit hair (wookie in a headlock) and bra-lessness) and the other is a teacher I really like and who is really awesome at her job. By getting the latter now, I dismiss the possibility of taking the class another quarter and getting the less effective teacher).
As I approach the end of year one, I’ve had my mid course review. I almost had a heart attack when they started looking at my sketchbooks and asked if I had considered illustration. Paranoid freak that I am, I assumed that this was a suggestion to get out of interior because I didn’t have what it takes, when in fact, it was a compliment.
I got ‘excels’ on every aspect and they said my stuff was already portfolio quality (weehee!). And one of the board who’ve I had for a few classes said that in all her time at AiS, I’m the best student she’s had.
I even got ‘high fived’.
To be honest, it kinda brought me down a little because well, first, living up to my own legacy is gonna be tough going, and I can also understand the certain sense of institutionalization that occurs here. As it happens in prison, here, I know how it works, everyone knows my name - students, faculty, even security chat with me. I know how to do brilliantly, I know the rules and how to work with them and bend them to achieve. It’s going to be daunting to leave, because well, I just become your average entry level peon. (very Shawshank)
Also, I do dozens of different things in a week - computer, sketching, building, concept stuff, design, research, history, reading, and then all the science and other stuff on top. To just limit everything suddenly to one aspect might feel very claustrophobic after such intense diversity.
Anyhoo, as to climbing, I made a complete traverse of the central pillar at Vertical World, defeating a bastard of a corner that’s been thwarting me every time (it may be due to the sheer power of my awesome new diamond plate chalk bag).
Plus, I can’t believe they’re doing a Rocky Horror remake. What evil hath been wrought to bring this upon us all?
Oh, and I had brilliant weekend last week. Erin and I floated in the lake, watched flicks, bouldered, did some CAD work, and had a spiff time.
And lastly, despite a few collisions with walls, doors, and pedestrians, my scoot hasn't killed me yet.

I just went onto myspace so find a comment had been left. The comment had a picture of me on it and yesterday I was feeling a lil down and ill.
The pic was of me at whitby some years ago all corseted up and the lil shit who has now been deleted put "It can only get better than this" indicating my pic looked awful. I found this very insulting and I have never said anything bad to this person before and cannot understand why HE was no NASTY!!
I'm never nasty to anyone unless they hurt me first and just don't understand why?

Don't you just hate it when you move slightly but send a huge tub of the smallest beads flying everywhere and then spend the next hour picking them up?
I could have just hoovered up swrpt them up but then I would have no beads to use of the cuff bracelet that I was making........ which is all finished now.
Incidentally the said bracelet (I have now made 4 of), I was told they are selling in the shops at £15-20ea, which means I need to up my £8 price tag me thinks. |

I woke this morning feeling as flat as a pancake and not wishing to leave my bed....... Reason? .....Unknown!
Suggestion came from mummykins to go do shopping for stuff. This is a very girly suggestion and though it wasn't a clothes thingy I still attended. AAARRGHH.....PERLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE SAY I'M NOT GOING GUUUUUUUURLIE!

So yes the outing rather cheered me up as I was buying craft stuff but then I went too far and bought more than I needed. I'M SUCH A JUNK CRAFT HORDER!!
Overkill was later assumed!
You can never have enough paintbrushes, paint, inks, paper, card, beads, wire, yarn, other misc items, arty books.........etc
