Howdy do everyone..
I feel really really silly asking this question, but I'm stumped. I'm a big HUGE fan of icons so I want to start making my own. I've got the ideas, I've got Photoshop 10, I've got time.. I just can't figure out how to get the images to 100x100. Now wait.. I can get them to 100x100, but then they look squishy.
Isn't there a way to have unsquishy 100x100 images? :( Help.

I rolled out an update last night on my icon table generator. For those who might not know about it, the generator helps you post icons (or other similar photos) in batches on your Livejournal, similar to this one, for example. You just enter your URLs in a form, and it generates the HTML for you. There are currently 4 templates to choose from.
The update now allows you to include section headers in your icon post. This is useful for those multi-fandom icon posts ;) Sample output could be seen at this multi-fandom icon post of mine.

Alright, so this is my second every icon tutorial that I made up all by myself! Yay! Since this is my first one since actually figuring out Imageready, please don't be too disappointed. Though it was made in IR, I'm sure it's transferable.
Today, I'm going to teach you to go from this to .

Very basic example on what can be done with twean:

Hi, everyone. This is my first post. I was wondering how to select or just "single out" a certain object or area in an image to colorize? I use PSP7. For example, I'd like to add color to JUST the flower in this image. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm posting here about this because I thought a few members might be interested, however, if it's deemed too off-topic, or it's against the rules, or otherwise disruptive, please feel free to delete my post, or tell me so that I may delete it myself. :)
I've been wanting to put the LJ icons I create in table-format posting for some time now, but couldn't really be bothered with writing up tables again and again or copy-pasting groups of cells or something. I'm lazy that way. ;) So I ended up getting into geek mode for a few hours tonight and came up with this -- a script that takes a (preset or customized) template and inserts any number of icons to come up with, say, a table for all the icons for posting into LJ (removes newlines too, so it doesn't mess up your code ;) hehe). I'm not sure if anyone had already created such a script before, but in any case, I put it online since people might be interested in it as well.
You can see it at work in my latest batch of icons here. That particular template I used is liquid -- the number of columns adjust according to the width of the browser window -- but the script can also do set tables. :) I have a few (boring) pre-sets made, previews of which are also available on the site; there's also a how-to on-site in case you wish to further customize the template it generates.
If you run into problems with regards to usage of the script and you're certain it's a bug, please feel free to post at my icon journal and let me know so I can fix it. :) Of course, any other sort of comment and the like is very much welcome. :) ♥

Hey all! I'm a girl who's skirting around the idea of Iconists Anon... So I come bearing a question!
I'm really quite poor, since the store I worked at shut down. But I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to buy Photoshop Elements for making icons? I really just want it to layer stuff.. I'm a collector of bases and text brushes... would this work for that?
Thanks- ~Lysse

I'm aware that this question has probably been asked a million times, but scrolling through, I haven't really found exactly what I need to know in the past posts.
I'm currently attempting to create an animated icon. I have the 100x100 image(s) and ImageReady/APS/PSP, I just need to know where to start. If anyone knows of any comprehensive tutorials or could explain it, could you please comment? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I have a couple of questions that I was hoping some informed & talented icon-makers could help me with. =)
I use Paint Shop Pro 9, and I know how to make the glowy effect, but I'm wondering as to how you make this other effect. It's hard to describe, so here's some examples:
   ( more examples )
See how those icons are all... well, the word that comes to mind is vivid. The colors stand out, there is a certain effect, but I have no idea how to create it. Can anyone help me out with that?
Then, also, what is this font that I keep seeing everywhere in icons? It's these ones:

Sorry to post this here, but any help would be GREATLY appreciated... thank you! :)
