For those who are curious, this website has pictures comparing a normal brain with ones with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as other mental disorders.

And people try to say medication isn't necessary. That these disorders aren't biological.

People try to feed you so much BS when you're [relatively] poor. Damn DHS. Good thing I know better.

Anyway, I'm going to ask you guys and the rest of my friends list about the letter of grievance I want to write to my doctor. And maybe some more mental health communities. My counselor thinks that it's *possible* that my doctor talked off the hospital because he couldn't stabilize me at *that very moment*, but he should know that I could do that at home. I don't need nasty food and tons of group therapies to stabilize. And he would be the doctor I would see at the hospital, unless I went to Tinley Park or Madden or somewhere- a state psych center.

What do you think I should professionally write in this letter?

My current psychiatrist place is so disorganized and inefficient. My God. All they do is give me samples. They don't tell me about Patient Assistance Programs to try to apply to to get free medication. How oddly convenient of them to do that. I just have to rely on them to have enough samples for me to last *6 weeks*? Please.
Guess I got to do everything myself ;-)

So here's a list of free/cheaper meds:

Here's a list from someone at A CrazyMeds Forum:

Lamictal/lamotrigine (GlaxoSmithKline): http://www.bridgestoaccess.com/PatientEnro...ion=FORMPATIENT

Topamax/Topiramate (Ortho-McNeil/J&JHS): http://www.ortho-mcneilneurologics.com/act...any/pap_app.pdf

Neurontin/gabapentin (Pfizer): (1. pfizer to drs office) https://www.pfizerhelpfulanswers.com/assets...App_English.pdf (2. drug card) https://www.pfizerhelpfulanswers.com/assets...pfriendsApp.pdf

Depakote/ divalproex sodium (Abbott Laboratories): https://www.pparx.org/resources/2006-05-30....Program.398.pdf

Trileptal/ oxcarbazepine (McKesson Health Solutions (formerly PPG) ): (1.
I created this journal over a year ago- in August 2006. I had no idea then how stress, working, shitty bosses and jobs, crappy coursework, etc., would exacerbate my mental health symptoms.

I just got home from the hospital a few days ago. At the moment, things are decent, with the exception of my delusions, and to a smaller extent, my irritability.

I'm going to actually try to keep this journal daily and see what effects it has on my mental well-being, and if it helps me to keep track of myself for my awesome counselor and not-so-awesome current doctor.

So...here's to my struggle with Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Type.

For the time being, anyone can reply to this entry, but you have to join the community to read most of the entries, since this is basically a friends-only journal...just made into a community so I don't have to logout of reve119.
