|Of The Morning CallCraig Ferguson left Glasgow for Los Angeles in 1995 after ''Braveheart'' was released, figuring the film's producers would need Scottish actors for a sequel to Mel Gibson's bloody historical epic.
''I should have stayed for the end of the movie,'' quips the 45-year-old performer during a brief interview from Los Angeles.
That line, drolly delivered with a perfect combination of learned-the-hard-way earnestness and self-mockery, is indicative of just how charming the newly minted U.S. citizen -- Ferguson was to officially take the oath of citizenship on Friday in Los Angeles -- can be.
