Notes on creating a Seven vest.
So, in my last post, I had pictures of the fake!Seven vest I created for the purpose of, well, dressing up like him for Halloween.

A good number of people have asked if I was going to make a pattern. I haven't really had the time yet, being in the throes of my final year of undergrad, but I did get to the point of ordering sport weight yarn for a vest that will be more accurate. The fake!vest was knit in worsted.

But since I don't have a real pattern put together yet, and since I do have some rather drab, respectable colors I bought in order to knit a respectable version of the vest (more worsted weight), I am going to knit another sample vest.

I have made up a few patterns for the colorwork; that's most of what this posting is about, and you can slap them on any old vest pattern. (I used the Leftovers pattern from knitty.com for the original vest, and I'm using it for the "respectable" colored vest as well. I'll figure something else out for the real vest.)

And here are some colorwork patterns! )

Jumper Patterns?
Hello all.

Just found this community and I'm very excited. You all seem to be interested in more than just The Scarf.

I'm working on the series 12 scarf (just have to add the tassels), and I'm looking towards my next project. That's me and my son, who will be receiving the scarf, in my user pic.

So, with all that said, is there a pattern for the 5th Doctor's cricket jumper somewhere? (Would prefer something from Time Crash, but really, anything would do.) I'm also looking for a pattern for 7's question mark vest, including the pocket (which often gets left off).

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Hullo crafty Doctor Who people!
I noticed that this community was sadly lacking in ugly Seventh Doctor jumpers, and as I have just recently finished my first attempt at one (sadly making the pattern far too large, but ah well), I figured I ought to inflict it on even more people than the ones I'm already inflicting it on.

And under here, a picture of the jumper in action. )

That is all.
