The infamous Dalek hat
This very strange idea took hold of me and wouldn't let go until I made it for the [info]who_knitsgood vs evil knitalong. Thought I'd share it with you lovely people, since you might appreciate it a wee bit more than my family does. Because you might think I wouldn't wear this in public. But you would be so, so wrong.

Pictures and directions below the cut for the infamous Dalek hat.

Bathroom buddies
These are NOT mine, but I stumbled across this fun page of crocheted Doctor Who toilet paper covers and had to share:

Doctor Who Bathroom Buddies

I remember seeing the 10th doctor one being sold at WhoNA.com a while back, but I had no idea that other doctors had been made, too. Plus Romana! and the Master! and a TARDIS tissue holder! So cute and so much detail.

Kaled mutants anyone?
Hello!

I've been lurking for a little while and feel it's time to ask the question.

Has anyone made/located a knitting or crochet pattern for Kaled Mutants?

I've been happily knitting [info]penwiper's dalek, but it's now occured to me that it won't be a real dalek without a kaled mutant inside.

I can probably make it with a little internal pocket opening at the front (at row 3&4 of the shoulder section, just under the firing panel, but I'm open to suggestions) which would fit one without it being too obvious.

The pocket will (hopefully) be very discreet, because it wouldn't be a proper dalek if the kaled mutant was too accessible. And it wouldn't be a kaled mutant, it would be an ex-kaled mutant, because a kaled mutant can't survive without a well built dalek around it, of course.

Maybe I'm taking this too far and this could be a sign I really need to get a life but hey, dalek *with* kaled mutant inside! How cool would that be?

Any help/advice greatly appreciated!

Crocheted Rose's Doomsday Wrist Warmers Finished
I finally took photos of the finished pair of wrist warmers that I made for the "Good vs. Evil" Knit/Crochet Along on [info]who_knits!
I have started a second pair. The new pair will have wider ribbing at the bottom and I think I will do more rows on the thumb part.

I am working on writing the pattern :)

Crocheted version of Rose's Wrist Warmers
I am part of the Good vs. Evil Knit/Crochet Along and I have the first of my crocheted version of the Wrist Warmers done and I think that I am pretty happy with it. It used one whole ball of Patons Grace cotton yarn (1 3/4 oz), the only thing is that I think that maybe the cotton is too stiff right now, but it might soften with washing. I think for my next crocheted pair, I'll use either Bernat Satin Sport or Lion Brand Microspun. One thing that I can say is that it worked up pretty fast though :)

The only major thing with adapting the pattern was I couldn't make the diamond cable wider because then the individual diamonds would have been way too long and it didn't look right. Thats the problem with crochet stitches being longer than knit stitches lol

lotsa so-so photos here )

Martha Hat?
So, I geeked it up for the new year and watched most of season three of the new Doctor Who with a friend over the past couple days. However, now I desperately want Martha's hat from Human Nature/Family of Blood (because I didn't want it enough last summer when it aired on TV). My Google-fu seems to be failing me because I can't seem to find a pattern for it on the web. It may be that a pattern for exactly this hat doesn't exist (although knowing the Who fandom, I doubt this greatly), but I figure there is probably a pattern out there that is fairly similar.
Pictures of Martha's Hat Under the Cut )
I realise that these aren't necessarily the best picture in the world of a hat (like, I have no view of the top of it), but finding any screen caps was hard (and I'd like to thank [info]lifeonmartha for aiding me). Help? Anyone?

The Doily of Rassilon
I charted up a filet crochet pattern based on the Seal of Rassilon symbol.

Rassilon contributed a lot to Time Lord culture in Classic Who, so who's to say he didn't enjoy a bit of crafty-ness, too?

Amigurumi Chibi!Nine
I made [info]snuffykin's amigurumi Chibi!Nine earlier this month and my son "stole" him from me before he was finished, so the back of Nines hair is not complete and he doesn't have a jacket because my son doesn't want it lol
