Ten Suit
New member here, just wanted to post my incredible good fortune.

Not really a craft, but some people might find this helpful.

I was at my local Burke's Outlet and was completely shocked to see a brown suit with blue pinstripes. "Guwha?!" said I and checked the tag. $25 was hard to beat, so now it's hanging in my closet waiting for Dragon Con. XD It's a tad too big, and a woman's cut, but me and a friend have been taking it in and modifying it.

Still, it's prett good.

Burke's a bit of an odds and ends store, but someone might want to look, even to use the fabric for something else, it was a better find than I usually find.

beaded dalek, and more tie dye
My sister is crocheting a dalek for me (I'll post pictures when it's done) so in exchange I made this beaded dalek for her. It's made of size 11 seed beads and is about 1.75 inches tall. If I get a chance I'm going to rework the design for the skirt (because it's too cylindrical right now) and possibly the top (which just looks a bit messy) but I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Also, we had a tie-dye party so I made a better version of the time vortex tie dye shirt. This time, instead of stenciling the Tardis on, I used opaque heat-transfer paper which turned out very well, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to put something on a tshirt.

I made a second shirt which was supposed to look like the 4th doctor opening, but the colors didn't come out quite right. I still like it though.

Notes on creating a Seven vest.
So, in my last post, I had pictures of the fake!Seven vest I created for the purpose of, well, dressing up like him for Halloween.

A good number of people have asked if I was going to make a pattern. I haven't really had the time yet, being in the throes of my final year of undergrad, but I did get to the point of ordering sport weight yarn for a vest that will be more accurate. The fake!vest was knit in worsted.

But since I don't have a real pattern put together yet, and since I do have some rather drab, respectable colors I bought in order to knit a respectable version of the vest (more worsted weight), I am going to knit another sample vest.

I have made up a few patterns for the colorwork; that's most of what this posting is about, and you can slap them on any old vest pattern. (I used the Leftovers pattern from knitty.com for the original vest, and I'm using it for the "respectable" colored vest as well. I'll figure something else out for the real vest.)

And here are some colorwork patterns! )

Not sure this is a craft..
I made the design myself, it just isn't home screening. I had these shirts made and finally got the shipment and oh, gods, I love them.

time vortex tie dye
I've wanted to do this for a while now, but didn't get a chance to tie-dye until recently. And then I saw that someone here had done something similar, so apologies for the inadvertent idea-theft. Also, I got the Tardis stencil from someone here so thanks (don't remember who posted the link to it).

The shirt has a little too much white in it, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

Look at me, I'm wearing a vegetable!

My daughter loved "Time Crash."  She designed a T-shirt to wear to school.  No one got it.  She didn't care.

Pictures posted here.

Crocheted Rose's Doomsday Wrist Warmers Finished
I finally took photos of the finished pair of wrist warmers that I made for the "Good vs. Evil" Knit/Crochet Along on [info]who_knits!
I have started a second pair. The new pair will have wider ribbing at the bottom and I think I will do more rows on the thumb part.

I am working on writing the pattern :)

TARDIS shirt
I had a friend dye some shirts for me, for my daughter to wear. I sat down tonight to applique something onto this purply-pinky dyed shirt. Hmmm... what did it remind me of? The temporal vortex, of course! So here's the TARDIS, spinning dramatically through the vortex. Tom Baker's head may appear at. any. moment.

P.S. My daughter loooves it, with all her two-and-a-half-years of "Dotta Who!" love. :D

Crocheted version of Rose's Wrist Warmers
I am part of the Good vs. Evil Knit/Crochet Along and I have the first of my crocheted version of the Wrist Warmers done and I think that I am pretty happy with it. It used one whole ball of Patons Grace cotton yarn (1 3/4 oz), the only thing is that I think that maybe the cotton is too stiff right now, but it might soften with washing. I think for my next crocheted pair, I'll use either Bernat Satin Sport or Lion Brand Microspun. One thing that I can say is that it worked up pretty fast though :)

The only major thing with adapting the pattern was I couldn't make the diamond cable wider because then the individual diamonds would have been way too long and it didn't look right. Thats the problem with crochet stitches being longer than knit stitches lol

lotsa so-so photos here )

Cross-stitch and T-Shirts
This is my first post to crafty_tardis although I've been watching for a while. Er. In a non-stalker way.

Anyway. I thought maybe it was about time I started posting some stuff!

first post and ambitious project
so i just found you guys.
and everything is delicious.
absolutely everything.

but i was wondering if anyone had really good (read: big and detailed, back and front) pictures of ten's brown pinstripe suit, coat, white shirt, and tie from "smith and jones".

for the fourth marking period in my tailoring class, we have a completely free project to do whatever.
i figure since i already made a suit first semester, the second suit shouldn't be too hard.
but, because of there not being paper patterns for it, i'll have to wing it and see what happens. XD
so the more detailed the picture, the more accurate the pattern will be.

now i just need to find the fabrics and coverses. xp

thanks in advance! - leenie

It was a super special birthday present made by my lovely friend [info]librarynoise(she gave me permission to post it) and its based off my icon *points up* one picture under the cut.

Tardis Hoodie
Hello! I'm new here and while I don't use LJ much these days, I thought I'd join up and post pics of the hoodie I just made.

I made it using stencils cut into Duralar (acetate) sprayed with bleach. The front logo was inspired by the sign on Lucy's psychiatry booth in Charles Schulz's Peanuts and the back stencil i found here.

Anyway, I hope you like it. I've been browsing through the patterns on here and there's some great stuff I'll have to try!

Jumper Patterns?
Hello all.

Just found this community and I'm very excited. You all seem to be interested in more than just The Scarf.

I'm working on the series 12 scarf (just have to add the tassels), and I'm looking towards my next project. That's me and my son, who will be receiving the scarf, in my user pic.

So, with all that said, is there a pattern for the 5th Doctor's cricket jumper somewhere? (Would prefer something from Time Crash, but really, anything would do.) I'm also looking for a pattern for 7's question mark vest, including the pocket (which often gets left off).

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Rose's Wristwarmers - WIP
Well, I thought that I would share my WIP, and this time, I am actually knitting instead of crocheting! (for those of you who don't know me, I crochet way more that I knit lol)

This project is my very first time working with double pointed needles and I haven't cabled in a very long time, so this has been quite the experience for me.

Hello, everyone! Long time stalker, first time poster, and it's nice to meet you all! :D

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knows what exact metal Nine/Ten's TARDIS has on her phone panel (or if it's even metal). I was thinking pewter, since it's got that dull silver-y sheen, but for all I know I'm missing some blatently obvious one! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks~

And in compensation: everyone has Four scarfs! I have decided that the other Doctors need their own, too.

So Ten got to go first. )

Thank you all again! Have fun crafting!
