Let's Get Organised ^^
Made this for my sister's birthday. She's just turned 17 and is my biggest fan with regard to earrings, so I made her something to keep them all together...

Made from wood.
Covered in strong (yet flowery :D) craft paper.
Embellished with tumbtacks and thin chain.

*grins* My kokeshi doll snuck into the photo too...

Okay, I've just decided, *this* is how I want to display my earrings! I've been trying to decide, out of all the cool things craftgrrls have posted, how to do that. This one! hehe. Very pretty, very visually pleasing as well as functional. A+!! :D

Nice!

I had something very similar in mind on my DIY list for the upcoming months...I was going to add some simple hooks under the top piece of wood though, to hang some necklaces in behind all the earrings! Might get a bit painful to pull the one I want out when I need it...but I figure it's less painful than trying to untangle everything just smushed into a jewelry bag or whatever! :)

Oh, and I was thinking--another way to do it, for extra space and easy storage when you want to put it away...would be to make two of them and hinge them together so they fold like a book (and then maybe tack the chains inside the rim of the box so it closes properly?)

anyway, I'm rambling...great project...it's got me inspired that's for sure!
