Felt Book
This community is SO great! I've been mainly lurking, but I am dying to get some feedback on my latest project.

I made a felt book for my daughter's first birthday. It took me about 2 months to do - 1-3 hours a night.

Book end detail

Book cover

C for Cat | H for Honeybee

A for Alligator | R for Robin

L for Lamb | O for Octopus

T for Toad | T for Turtle

E for Elephant

Back cover

Book spine detail

Up close details:

Thanks for looking :)

ETA: Thank You SO much for the amazing comments!

I also want to add, that this book is something that we ALWAYS look at it TOGETHER. I don't let her play with it alone because of the buttons and beads and the safety concern. They are definately fastened properly, but you can't ever take the chance. If you are going to use this as inspiration, please keep that in mind. (Thanks rocks_in_riots!)

Man. It took FOREVER. I started it in the middle of June (her birthday was July 22) and I wasn't done till the middle of August.

I did watch TV while I made it, so i'm sure that if I had been totally focused it would have gone faster.

I didn't draw the icon.. I just photoshopped it a bit. I think I got it off of a tattoo community - someone posted a tattoo idea and I STOLE it for my icon. heh.

Just as a precaution... no children's toys meant for children under the age of two should conatin removable parts less than 2" in diameter. Can you tell I work at a toy store? Just make sure everything decorative is insanely fastened. Maybe glue as well as sew the buttons? better safe than sorry. Why do babies eat everything? lol :)
It is insanely beautiful!

I totally agree. I am the most worrysome mom on the planet so I don't let her play with it alone. We always look at it together, partly for the safety factor (but believe me, those buttons are triple fastned) and partly because I spent so much time on it I don't want her to ruin it!
