Funny video re: Sherlock 2009

  • Jul. 3rd, 2009 at 10:31 PM
Hi guys!
Maybe you've already seen it, but I'm resurfacing from lurkerdom to show you this video I just found on youtube: it's a new take on an old meme that has to do with the upcoming Guy Ritchie movie.

For the uninitiated (as I was until just now), the clip is from a WWII movie where Hitler receives some bad news and flies into a rage. Since it's in German, it has been re-subbed time and time again, resulting in endless hilarity: Hitler has recently found out about Michael Jackson's death, the losses of a few of his favorite sports teams, and now that he has seen the SH 2009 trailer he even less pleased!

Fic: Sticks and Stones

  • Jul. 1st, 2009 at 8:00 PM
Title: Sticks and Stones
Author:[info]janeturenne
Rating: PG
Summary: "The stone is simple, the white marble graven with only two words and two dates. Grey is more traditional, Watson knows, but he's sure that he couldn't stand to see those eyes staring back at him. "
Pairing: H/W
Words: about 650
AN: Preslash, but hopefully emotional enough to warm the slashy heart.  X-posted to [info]watsons_woes  and my journal.

The thing about the hiatus is, it's got this gravitational pull... )

I thought I'd also pop in links to a pair of short H/W pieces in my journal-- Naturally Poetic, which is just over 300 words rated PG-13, and an untitled drabble rated R.  Both are considerably slashier than this is...

Fic: An Evening Out

  • Jun. 30th, 2009 at 8:07 PM
Title: An Evening Out
Author: Elaby
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Rating: G. Totally G. This isn't very slashy, but Holmes and Watson are distinctly marital here, so I thought it would qualify :D
Warnings: None
Disclaimer: All characters created by ACD belong to their copyright holder(s), not me.
Word Count: 1,035
Author's Notes: This is absolutely warm and fluffy, with nothing more serious than Holmes's occasional good-natured snarkiness. I wrote this for [info]liek_woah86 in response to a drabble meme request where she requested something where H&W get dressed up nicely. It grew slightly longer. Oh well! I had Clive Merrison and Michael Williams in my head the whole time, so if you're inclined, you can imagine their voices.

Fic: Echoes of the Past

  • Jun. 28th, 2009 at 2:58 PM
Title: Echoes of the Past
Author: Daylyn
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (in the 22nd Century)
Pairing: Holmes/Watson (from the past)
Rating: PG
Word Count: 4,100+
Disclaimer: Not mine and no profit is intended.

Summary: The 22nd century had more changes than Holmes realized, including allowing men to marry each other. Holmes’ memories stray to the past and his relationship with Watson.

Author’s Note: Here’s a bit of strangeness that was poking around in my head. The premise for this fic had oddly been in my head even before I had seen the show “Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century” (thanks again to [info]spacefall for the episodes!) I started writing this fic on the day that the California Supreme Court ruled that Proposition 8 would stand (the voter amendment to the California Constitution which prohibits gays from marrying, thus taking away the rights that they had in the state for only a few brief months). But, as always, I write slowly. I started with the idea that gay marriage would be legal throughout the world 100 years from now. Why yes, I am a(n) naïve optimist.

I don’t think it’s necessary to have seen “Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century” to read this fic. For a bit of background, Holmes was resurrected in the 22nd century to help battle a clone of Professor Moriarty. Holmes' main companions are Inspector Beth Lestrade of New Scotland Yard (yes, from that Lestrade family) and a robot named Watson.

Break (G)

Title: Break
Author(s): [info]mymetalphantom
Rating: G, I think.
Pairing(s): Holmes/Lestrade
Disclaimer: All characters created by ACD belong to their copyright holder(s), not me.
Summary: Holmes and Lestrade in the aftermath of a bad case. Sometimes Holmes even surprises himself.
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1,310
Author's Notes: Unbeta'd so apologies for any mistakes. A little gen fic with maybe just a hint of something shippy. I started this fic ages ago and then life intervened. I wanted to write a fic where Holmes is nice to Lestrade and this is as close as Holmes would let me get.

Fic: The August Series (part 4 of 5)

  • Jun. 22nd, 2009 at 10:41 PM
Title: August 1918: Renewal
Author: Daylyn
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Rating: R
Word Count: 3,900+
Disclaimer: Not mine, although actually in the public domain. No profit is intended.

Summary: Four years into the Great War, as influenza sweeps the land, Watson receives a visitor.

Author’s Note: This is a sequel to August 1912: Separation, August 1914: Reunion, and August 1916: Desolation, and is the fourth in a 5-part series titled The August Series, which captures moments in time, every other August, from 1912 to 1920 (from the time Holmes leaves for America through the aftermath of the World War I).

Title: The Investigation of the Ivory Shoulder
Artist: [info]chibitoaster
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Holmes/Watson
Medium: Pencil and paper
Notes: I drew this yesterday while under the influence of my new medication. It really does send me into loopyville, and even now I'm under the influence, so I don't know if it's any good or not. Frome what I can see it's worthy of posting. ^_^ Hooray for chemicals!

The Case of the Falling Lock

Title: The Case of the Falling Lock
Author: [info]chibitoaster
Rating: PG
Word Count: 400+
Characters: Holmes/Watson
Notes: Based on the observation that I tend to draw Watson with a lock of his hair falling into his face. I changed the title to the one above 'cause I'm on drugs, and I can think in different directions now. Prescription drugs, that is. Nothing illicit, or Lestrade might come after me (what a shame, eh?).

One more, then I have to run off to work!!

Title: None
Artist: [info]chibitoaster
Medium: Pen and Ink
Rating: PG
Characters: Holmes and Watson
Notes: Young Holmes and Watson - this is how I imagine them when they first met and took lodgings together. Again, I see Watson as the one with more interest at this point in their romance friendship.
