This is an angst or hurt/comfort picture largely inspired by Jane's writing the other day. Nothing explicit here.

Summary: Based on a request from
chibitoaster -Holmes gets jealous of a patient that Watson attends to.
Author’s Note: ZOMG SLASH! Oh, and the fact that the BBC Radio production of REIG was just too slashy so I mentioned it, but only mentioned.

Again, I've no idea what's the matter with my timing. Last time I displaced
spacefall's art, this time fic by the glorious
janeturenne, but I finally got the pictures back from my trip to London and have a few H/W-related photos to post!
Original post +
pro_prodigy's crack!fic.
Warning: I'm a crap photographer and these are prints from a cheap disposable Kodak that I then re-took with a digital camera for lack of a scanner. There's all kinds of mess, but I think you can see all the good stuff.

Let me know if you have any questions I can answer!

I've been utterly terrible about crossposting my fic here of late; 'pologies, lovelies. So have three stories at once, won't you?

random_nexus says this should have "SERIOUS warnings for angst and OWDAMMIT!" and that sounds pretty much right to me. This is dark and painful, kidlets. Not for the faint of any internal organ, including but not limited to heart, appendix and spleen. Seriously, don't read it if you don't want it to rough you up a little bit emotionally. Please.

I come to you, members of Cox & Co, to seek something that's determinedly eluded me for about a month now. I have a memory of Basil Rathbone portraying Sherlock Holmes and dressing up as his Captain Basil persona. Peacoat, possibly an eyepatch, and I think facepaint to make his skin look swarthy. Am I high? Does anyone else remember this? AND, oh, dear community members, IF you remember this, does anyone remember from which movie? I am going crazy with my sucky memory, trying to recall this--presuming, of course, that it DOES exist--and would be pitifully grateful to anyone with this information. Should anyone actually have a pic or screencap to share, again presuming I'm not utterly out of my mind (more than usual), I would probably squee for an hour and possibly asplode. I'll try not to get any on you, if so.
Thank you oodles and bunches in advance, for yea or nay, just so long as I can resolve this mental dilemma. THIS one. Heh.

Title: Thoughts Without Words
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson preslash with a heavy platonic dose of Holmes/Irene Adler
Rating: PG
Summary: If you squint, it's a Christmas fic. Holmes, frustrated in love (frustrated, as usual, by himself), spends an evening doing not much of anything. But every bit of it has to do with music, so he ends up not so very frustrated after all. Inspired by Jane and Spacefall's love of music!fic, as otherwise I would never have had the stones to write it.

Holmes for the Holidays
I just wanted to remind everyone about our Holmes for the Holidays Fiction/Art Charity Drive. I know there are a lot community exchanges going on at this time of year, but, please, consider participating.
Tags
All members are now able to create tags. That's something I'm always woefully behind on. So, please, help out. All I ask is that you keep in mind that tags are there to help other members find what they're looking for (i.e., "omg why did i write this" "not my fault" and "there's no tag for this" are cute, but not helpful). Please, do not create a tag for "slash," that goes without saying. I may periodically wrangle and normalize similar tags (e.g., "watson/omc" and "omc/watson" would be deconflicted to "watson/omc").
Please, check the current Cox & Co. tags list before you create a new one. (Don't see your username? Please, make a tag for it!)
One thing I've always been undecided about: Do warnings warrant tags? Should they take the format "warning: rape" for example? Or is the warning line in the headers enough? I've seen other communities use warning tags and I just wondered if that's something our members would find worthwhile. I have no squicks or triggers, so I realize I'm not the best judge. (Of course there are scenarios I don't seek out or would rather not read, but that's not the same thing.)
Posting Instructions
Reminder: New folks, please, read/follow the community's posting instructions. Thanks!
Dreamwidth
Reminder: Cox & Co. is also on Dreamwidth, here, and I have plenty of DW invitation codes left. Please, send me a private message with your e-mail address, if you'd like a code to create an account.

Title: The Story of Charles Augustus Milverton Retold In Thirty Days
Rating: NC-17 (and how)
Pairings: Holmes/Watson, Watson/Mary, Mary/Irene, and Mrs. Hudson gets some at the end, too, but I've already said too much
Disclaimer: All of these characters belong to their creator, Sir Conan Doyle, and not me. Actually, I pretty much belong to them.
Summary: This is an honest and juicy retelling of the Milverton story, and the extremely sexy people who were actually involved in it.
Warnings: It's all very sexual.
Word Count: Quite a few.
Author's Note: For the International Month of Porn challenge, I thought I'd try my hand at daily smutty drabbles, which ended up evolving into the story of CAM the way I've always wanted to tell it. I haven't the money to fund a pdf for one big file, so I've simply posted the link to my journal below. The series begins with "After a Spell," which you can take however you want because it's not really until "The Name of Love" that the plot begins to cohere. But certainly don't skip "Opera Night"--that's an image I still carry around with me to pleasantly pass idle moments.

Title: Feltily Ever After
Rating: PG-13ish
Pairings: SH/JH (for Sherlock's hat and John's hat) & Holmes/Watson
Disclaimer: Holmes, Watson, and their hats belong to ACD. The word 'feltily' belongs to
spacefall
Summary: Based on a comment from this entry, ( here ) made by
lilapaddy </span> after she had visited the 221B museum and noticed two hats sitting side by side. It could only mean one thing: love.
Warnings: I was obviously bit by a rabid plot bunny
Word Count: 1400+
A/N: Semi-crack. Features the life and times of two very amazing hats.
"Hang on, does this mean that ... Holmes/Watson was actually a by-product of the all-consuming passion of two hats? I can see it now. One day the attraction was too strong, and bowler and topper began pressing feltily together, with inevitable consequences for the attached gentlemen."

No one in their right mind should ever displace spacefall's art posts from the top of the comm page, but I had to write to tell you lovelies that I had the chance to visit 221B Baker St. in London this past weekend.
There's a Sherlock Holmes museum there. It's dusty and crazy and furnished to look as close to the stories' descriptions as possible. It. is. wonderful.
Slashy elements:
- A bowler hat and top hat sit permanently together on the sitting room table
- The same two hats rest together on a rack when you first go in the apartments
- (my favorite) Dr. Watson's room, labelled by the curators, conspicuously lacks a bed.
I used a disposable camera to document, which is currently at the developer's. They told me prints would be ready Monday!
