[i]sharon95: Fitness goals for 2008.

My goals for this summer are to get in better shape, and sticking to my diet.  Not so much for weight loss, but for health overall.  I try and avoid sugar, and it seems that temptation has been getting the best of me lately a little more than I'd like.  I started June off with a bang as far as excercise.  At least 5-6 days a week, but my motivation has waned in July.  A lot going on.  I shouldn't say for all of July, more like the last week and a half.  I tend to overwhelm myself with projects, then put exercise last on the to do list.

Most of all, I don't want to lose the progress I've made so far this year (fitness).  It took a while to build muscle and stamina, so I want to move forward, not start over!

[i]aroset: New PB! Sri Chinmoy 5km @ Princes Park

So I'll start with the ups.

I was aiming for 51.00, my watch registered 51.14! Hazzah!

I'll put this in point form so it doesn't get boring. )

And now, since I worked last night and have been up since yesterday, time for bed. I'm tired.

Comment and tell me five things you like about YOURSELF.

Don't be afraid to get cocky or brag about anything you want.

Just respond to the statement. :)

[i]sourtimesahead: 4 years is approaching

It's by Dj Encore feat. Engelina as the singer. Title: "Out There"

You must be out there

Every time I’ve got an hour on my hands I hope you feel me
Every now and then I understand the fact that you believed me

How can I go on
If you don’t come along to set me off
I don’t know nothing
How can I move on when I am half as strong
Without your strength
I don’t know nothing

Cause you’re not in my world to ease my worries
And you can’t be the one I turn to
Who’s gonna watch over me if not you
Will your memory live on inside me?

Ever since you went away I wondered why the world kept turning
Every time I think of you I feel the flame that keeps on burning

How can I go on
If you don’t come along to set me off
I don’t know nothing
How can I move on when I am half as strong
Without your strength
I don’t know nothing

Though you’re not in my world to ease my worries
And you can’t be the one I turn to
You’re gonna watch over me I feel you
Cause your memory lives on inside of me

You must be out there
Though you’re not in my world to ease my worries
You must be out there
And you can’t be the one I turn to
You must be out there
You’re gonna watch over me I feel you
You must be out there
Cause your memory lives on inside of me

You must be out there

[i]thinkzinc: Mama Mia!

Saw it tonight :D
Definitely this year's best film!
In fact, it is now one of my favourite films ever!
I want to go to Greece tomorrow! So beautiful *sigh*. After watching the film I actually felt as though I had been on a two hour holiday there :-)

If you don't like Abba (shame on you!) you might not enjoy the film, but if you do you will ♥love♥ it! It's very funny :-) Meryl Streep, Julie Walters and Christine Baranski are particularly brilliant but the guys are great too!

For those with an interest in that kind of thing, you get to see Colin Firth in a wet shirt, which he then takes off ;-)

I've put on 9lbs in the past seven months. The damage isn't as bad as I expected- I've been feeling rather tubby lately, and re-doing measurements that I haven't even looked at in over a year, I feel very compelled to get myself back in the game.

[i]zebrapants: Movie Meme

Taken from [info]adamant_turtle

1. What movie have you seen the most time in the theater? How many times?
I remember seeing Sense and Sensibility a few times. And for some reason I saw Dances with Wolves more than once. My uncle wanted to see it, but unfortunately didn't really have much of an attention span, and he was high. Literally high. Weird choice of movie to watch when you're high. I imagine.

2. What was the last movie you walked out of in the theater?
Angel Heart -- I was probably 9 or 10 and went with a friend to her dad's weekend visitation. He just dragged us to stuff he wanted to do, a total skeez. It scared the crap out of us so we left her dad and went to the bathroom. For half an hour.

3. What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
Bambi. Obviously it wasn't first release. I was probably 4.

4. What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Currently, Juno.

5. Have you ever dressed up as a movie character for Halloween? If so, who?
I don't think so, but I'm having a hard time remembering any costumes I wore for Halloween, except a ladybug one year and Nixon another year. Yeah I was weird.

6. What was the first R-rated movie you ever saw? Were you allowed or did you sneak?
Not sure.

7. Star Wars (orig. trilogy) or Lord of the Rings?
Star Wars. I like Lord of the Rings, but Star Wars is sacred, and I'm not even a big nerd.

8. Pacino or DeNiro?
DeNiro. I did like The Godfather, though.

9. Titanic...did it suck or was it great?
Titanic was great. Now it's extremely cheesy.

10. What's your take on Cassavetes?
Heard of him. No opinion.

11. Favorite John Hughes character?
Bueller, Bueller...

12. What movie gives you a boner (or makes you tingle)?
Last of the Mohicans, Daniel Day Lewis.

13. What movie always makes you cry like the big puss you are?
The Notebook. We're talking box of tissues.

14. What's the furthest you've ever gotten in a movie theater? (i.e, second base...)
Save it for later, people.

15. Speaking of sports metaphors, what's your favorite sports movie?
Jerry Maguire

16. (a) Favorite... teen movie?
Sixteen Candles

(b)...Quentin Tarantino movie?
Pulp Fiction, hello.

(c)...Bill Murray movie?
Lost in Translation

(d)...romantic comedy?
Love Actually

(e)...gangster movie?
The Godfather

(f)...horror movie?
28 Days Later

(g)...made for TV movie?
Little House on the Prairie. I don't really watch made for TV movies.

(h)...director?
I don't care as long as the movie is good.

(i)...drug movie?
Blow

17. What movie have you seen already but will never, ever, ever watch again?
The Lake House. UGH.

18. What movie are you embarrassed to really like?
The Notebook. I don't touch those Nicholas Sparks books.

19. What movie should be remade asap?
The newest Indiana Jones movie should be erased from history and rewritten as a favor to mankind.

(Hey! Where's 20??)

21. For the love of everything that's sacred, please someone stop (insert answer) from making another movie!
Lindsay Lohan (I second this.)

22. What movie do all your friends love but you think is whatevs?
Pete loves Monty Python, and I love Pete, but I don't think it's that funny. (And I do get it, I just don't think it's that funny.)

23. What movie do you love but all your friends think is whatevs?
Sliding Doors.

24. If you could hump/date/marry any movie character, who would it be?
James Bond: Daniel Craig. "Hump," a word reserved for dogs, thanks. James Bond isn't the settling down type, shame. I love Mr. Emerson from A Room With a View.

25. Best...movie....ever?
The Hours really affected me, but I will say you can't watch it once a week or anything. Too heavy. Lost in Translation is great, too, so is The Princess Bride.

26. Book you wish would be made into a movie, and who would direct it?
Confessions of a Shopaholic, and it IS being made into a movie. I don't care who directs it.

[i]wendyathome: Been fun!

Been a fun day so far. My sister, her husband and my niece got in late last night. They'd been at my Mom's and then came by here on their way further up North to his parents and they spent the night and then this monring we spent a few minutes at a close by park (and they'd brought me things I'd left at Mom's) and it was all good fun. They're already on the road but it sure was great to see them :-)

Still concerned about family stuff and all but I'm hoping and praying it'll work out. Trying to relax about it.

Jon and I yesterday did some extra cleaning trying to get the apartment nice again (I'd slacked, plus the being out of town. I still have lots to do organizing wise, but we got it nice enough to feel company-ready. (I did a "stash-and-dash" though which Mom thought was funny since I told her she had to remove it from her vocabulary. I now have my own "closet of a thousand hours" too ;)) But all it all it's working out. My sister even saw the gift I'm planning for all our nephews this year and thought it was a cute idea. (plus they even liked my brownie recipe, sweet!)

The extra cleaning, along with the making pasta sauce from scratch had me really ready to see the chiropractor - so rather than hurting while they were here and still being so sinus-y (from dusting and cleaning) I got adjusted yesterday and that felt great.

Okay internet and computer are driving me nuts so I'm gunna stop this update. Later!

[i]aroset: 51.00, I can do this.

Tomorrow is my second 5km run event at Sri Chinmoy, Princes Park. I'm not nervous of the run, actually. I'm feeling pretty good about it and I have set myself a goal of 51.00 minutes.

Right now I'm focused on eating well all night, so that when I get to the race I won't be full and I won't be empty. Basically eating at about 6am will be best. I'll be eating soup tonight again too, yummy.

I packed my bag this morning because I was so excited about tomorrow and then woke up this evening and realised I hadn't put my number in! Whoops, most important thing! LOL.

I hope I meet the others from Ausrun, and I don't miss them. I don't know if they'll know who I am but I'm at the other end of the physical size so I should stick out. Also a couple of the others actually have shirts and caps with their names on them, how cool, I should do that. Especially if I'm going to continue these events.

When I return I shall be the successor of two 5km run events! Woohoo! Send me positive vibes!

[i]mesawyou: Writer's Block: Your First Record

What was the first music album you ever bought or owned? Do you still listen to it or have you moved on?

Well. My parents brought me records. Yes I am that old.  I had a mini library of things like Sesame Street's Christmas Album and Alvin and the Chipmunks.  I also got the Grease soundtrack.  I think that is the first one that I asked my parents to get for me. I might be wrong.  My first tape I got for myself was "Beauty and the Beat" by the Go Gos.  Well I don't own a working LP player and I think it's scratched up anyway. But I still listen to songs from both of those items.

[i]lynnivere: pop switch flap click snap

Hear that?

That's the sound of my brain rewiring.

I'm not sure how it's possible.. but being at home base has catapulted me into *go go speed racer* mode.  I liked the smooth pace of traveling much better.  I can feel certain aspects of my travel mood & vibe saturating my home life but the life I left here was ready to pick up all the same.  *nods*

Needless to say, I'm pleased that after one day of Therapy.. I now have a weekend.  *giggles*

There are some new avenues I want to explore in my career now.  The mountains clarified much for me.  Being back at home base makes me antsy to set about it and move into my new life asap.  Still, I can see the blueprint needs refinement.  So I am processing .. processing .. processing.

Oh, did I mention.. that for the very first time in my life.. I didn't miss home the whole 2 weeks away?!

Ya.. that was a stunner for this hardcore Earth Sign, fo sho.
