About:Welcome to Costume UK a new community which aims to bring together amateur costumers based in the UK. The aims of the community are

To encourage costuming, whatever your area of interest may be.
To share information on techniques and solutions to costuming problems
To share those suppliers of unusual/cheap materials and resources you have found (UK based or easily available to the UK) - no direct advertising please!
To highlight useful sources of information for researching both historical and recreation costumes.
To disseminate information on upcoming UK based costume related events.

If anyone can think of any other area we should be covering let the community know.

This is not a community for criticism of individuals, groups or costumes. This community is currently un-moderated, I would like to keep it that way.

Please note that some people in the UK costuming community who do not have easy access to the internet have expressed a desire for a digest of information from the community to be sent to them in a printed form. By posting in this community you give permission for your post (or an edited version of) to be published in printed form.
