silk dupioni

Hope this is allowed, if not, feel free to delete!
Anyone interested in white Indian silk dupioni? 54" wide. It's a silk white, so it's not stark white. I have about 10 yds, $8.25 per yard + shipping.
Thank you!

Corset supplies, underwires, a whole lot!

I will be sending in an order to Wissner through my firm, probably in the end of this month. As many of you know, the minimums which need to be met are in the ball park of a truckload of effin'huge.

Having learned a bitter lesson with these group orders, I will buy all of the things myself, for myself, but since I will be getting so much of basically everything, I believe I can spare. Things I will be buying this summer include:

-continuous bones, both spiral and flat steels, different widths
-continuous artificial whalebone (plastic, but maybe the stiffest stuff there is, washable, light-weight, highly recommendable)
-end caps (both metal and plastic)
-underwires (probably 1-2 sizes, at this point I'm considering European 80C and 85D, but not sure yet)
-underwire tubing (soft knitted fabric tube, used for underwires)
-etc...

So, I decided to skip this one trip I was planning to make in a couple of weeks and instead, use my summer bonuses on sewing materials, like any other sane person would do!

I will post here as soon as my order finalizes and when I know how much and what I'll be getting. Then there will be the tedious task of calculating the shipping costs, but after that I will take orders. There's also a bit of a warning: I'm really not looking forward to send small amounts of dozen different things to 30 different locations all around the globe, but much rather have a handful of loyal comrades who are willing to share a considerable amount of goods.

Also, I'm in Finland, so anyone who wants to participate, has to consider the shipping costs, the customs, taxes and prepare for the ridiculously low rate of US dollar, or any other foreign currency first. Consider yourselves warned. Shipping inside EU is highly encouraged.

Now, I'm not one to leave anyone out, I'm just trying to keep my workload to a minimum. I'm just saying that if there are interested people, let's say, in the US, please consider organizing a semi-group order, so that if there are several participants, I'd appreciate it if I could send everything in one box to one address and then you share it amongst yourselves any way you want. This way, I don't have to cut, reroll, package, send and deliver a thousand separate boxes and crates. I'm not doing this for money, I have a day job.

Just think: this time I'm paying for everything beforehand. I'm not going to ask difficult and complex transactions or downpayments, I'm not going to take people's money and then NOT deliver the goods, and I'm not going to spend too much time or energy on this. What I ask is suggestions and possible interest so that I might consider changing my order to fit the general public, and if I find that the public wants almost the same things than I do, then I can take orders after I have everything on hand and organized. I might even order something I originally would NOT, if enough people express interest in it. Throw ideas at me, I promise I'll consider anything!

I'll be posting a list of goods I have written down which will be ordered no matter what and them some possible additions to the list, and the minimum amounts of goods in a short while, also a bit of info on the offers I've received so far. Also note that the more I order, the less it'll cost.

Busks for sale.

I have the following spare and are willing to sell for the 'pay for a car' fund. I was hoping to use them for myself but sadly I need to find £500 by July!

5 x 13" @ £4.50  each

Or all 10 for £40.  P&P will be about £2.50 max for the lot, but I recon £1.25 max each if you just want one.  You can respond here or email me on absintheskiss (at) ntlworld (dot) com.

Laces

I am looking for laces that come in colors other than black and white. I know that Fitting Room sells red, teal, and pink (or purple? I can't remember) but I was hoping for a wider selection of colors. Someone on another community recommended that I use satin ribbon, and I will if I have no other options, but I really like the flat synthetic corset laces that I got from Fitting Room, and would love to have some colorful laces.

Thanks!

Need a small quanitity of bones

Hello everyone, I'm in need of four flat steels, 14" long and about 3/8" wide.  It's such a small quantity that I thought here would be a good place to ask all the serious corset-makers out there in case anyone has some laying around or taking up space in their stash.  So, does anyone have some they would be willing to sell and ship to me?  Or perhaps even a shop that sells them so specific and individual?  I have only seen bones sold in quantity or kits.
Thanks for reading~

Busks

This is my first post here and on live journal and I have a question.  I'm attempting to make my first corset and I've been searching the net for a busk since I can't find one locally but I would like an extra wide one.  I've found a couple places but they're sold out.  Does anyone have a suggestion where I can find one?  It needs to be white.

Thanks so much

Melissa Gosset's Boning Group Order Con't...

I was just checking on my profile page and noticed that reddragonflys20's LJ account has been deleted sometime in the last few days.  Email is bouncing back from her yahoo address.  I haven't tried
caleighsdesigns@hotmail.com yet - has anyone tried that?  I've not received anything from the boning order, and I paid nearly $100.  I'm sure there are other people who are out much more than that.  The last successful email response I got from her was at the beginning of December, and I've gotten nothing since then.  That was when I was living in California and I volunteered to drive from San Francisco up to Sacramento to help divide up the boning if she needed help.  The only response was "i'm just working on it little by little!!!".  I'm at a point where I'm going to HAVE to order more boning in the next week or two to complete a project I have to have done by the end of the month.

Has anyone else had more luck recently?  How about luck with trying to get a chargeback?  Since I paid by PayPal I have a feeling that I'm out the cash no matter what since I paid last September.

Boning Order: Paging Melissa of the Gothic Rose reddragonflys20..again!

I'm posting here because my emails get bounced back undelivered.

I'm wondering what's the status on the boning order? I'm running very, very low on my supplies (busks I have, but boning...) and I'm in a bit of a hurry to finish a couple of garments as we speak. Otherwise I wouldn't be so impatient. I have a photoshoot coming in a month and I really need to get at least some of the materials well before that.

On the other hand, it has been several months since the order, I'd like to get a little heads up on what's going on, just so that I would know when I'll be expecting the goods? A rough estimate would suffice.

Anyone heard anything from her? Maybe it's just my Outlook acting up again and bouncing back my emails, I don't know. I just feel I'm a bit in the dark about this one.

Hand Press Dies

Hi everyone!
I've had several people write me since receiving their hand presses that they wanted to order more dies for their presses. So here is the opportunity to get those.

The dies are 35.00 US (will get international shipping shortly) for the first one and 28.00 for each additional. This includes shipping and all fees.

You can get dies size 00 to size 5. I can order custom sizes for 56.00 for the first one and 50.00 for each additional.

You can order regular dies or the bodkin kind which pierces the fabric. I have both but I have to say that the bodkin kind which pierces and sets the grommets only does a fair job at piercing the fabric. Having said that the post that pierces the fabric holds on the grommet and fabric hole open without any fiddling.

Metal snap setting dies are also available, if anyone is interested in these email me and I'll get pricing.

These are the prices for these items. It's very simple if you don't like the prices don't order. Don't become a PITA with questions/comments about exactly how much I pay for pricing/shipping etc.

Your orders will ship within 2 business days of me receiving them.

Email me at handpressorderatgmail.com.

This order will stay open until we get enough to make the order.

Calling corset makers!

This week on ebay I am selling off some fabric remnants left over from my wedding dresses - including some beautifully soft, high quality velvet, some 100% pure silk dupion, silk brocade and acetate brocades - many pieces easily big enough to make over bust corsets, and all big enough for hats, bags, fashion details and everything you can think of - and I know how creative you can be!

I will be listing some absolute gems over the next few weeks, including some limited edition fabrics and fabrics from never to be repeated dye lots, including pieces from some of the U.K's top companies not usually available to the public - as well as trimmings and all sorts - so pick up a bargain today!

My ebay id is velvetvera , and track this item number 260219622664 for the most amazing purple fabrics, including some fine quality Cadbury's chocolate wrapper purple 100% silk taffeta - and then look at all the rest!!!

Hi guys,

I recently had some pre-cut custom care labels printed.  I had to buy a HUGE amount of them though which I know I will never get through.  I thought some of you may be looking for care labels suitable for corsetry so am selling them off in small, cheap lots.  There are two types - one for silk/cotton fibre content and the other for polyester/cotton content.  Their dimensions are 5cm x 2.5cm (2" x 1") and they are printed on nylon.

I am selling them for AU$2.50 (about US$2.33) for 25 of either type.

Postage costs are:

Australia - 50c
Asia/Pacific - $1.30
Rest of World - $1.95

Payment via bank deposit if in Australia; PayPal for overseas buyers.  Please add 4.5% for PayPal charges.  You can pay by this method also if you are in Australia, but please add 3.5% for charges.

Email me at info@volancia.com if you are interested.

Busks

It's ok, you'll have a lot of requests about; this is my firts post also, but I'd like to know where you buy busks; I saw on Internet different sites that sell them, but I like one Seller who can give me huge quantities of busks, even with a little discount. I live in Italy, and I like to buy more in one time, and without spending a lot; where do you usually buy them?
Thank you ^___^

Herringbone Twill

Google has failed me. Woe!

OK, so I'm trying to find a source for good corset twill (especially with wholesale prices/options), and I seem to only be finding either denim, or stretch twill. No herringbone weave or anything corset appropriate.

What are some good sources for corset (lining) appropriate twill? I just need basic black.

By the way, has anyone bought fabric from Denver Fabrics? They have oodles of fabric I'd like to have, but I don't know how good their prices really are or if their service is good. Thanks. I only see a post about them closing down and liquidating all stock, and that was from far back last year. It's still open, but no longer carries coutil...?

Boning Order: Paging Melissa of the Gothic Rose reddragonflys20..again!

I've been checking this community regularly and have failed to see any postings recently from Melissa of the Gothic Rose. You did a wonderful job of gathering our order as well as our funds. I understand that once the order had arrived there was more work involved than you anticipated but you haven't posted here in over two months. I'm starting to get a little concerned. An update to your progress directly from you would make me feel a lot better.

Thanks.

ending today peeps, I have a quantity of these so if anyone is interested, please get in touch.
They are really a lovely colour and quality but I am more of a satin girl myself and these were given to me, so they have to go!

I decided that my skills and needs for corsetry are much lower than the amount of supply stock I keep on hand so I have decided to liquidate some of it.

Love Shiny Things?

I'm wondering--I'd like to do something similar to Mina's ridiculously gorgeous swarovski encrusted corset (although, probably just make some sort of pattern instead); her store said it took more than 11 thousand rhinestones (I don't know of what diameter though). That costs between $400 and $500. I can't quite afford that, especially not at the small bulk at which I'm buying.

Is there anyone else out there who loves sparkles as much and likes to have looots of rhinestones that would be interested in doing some sort of insanely huge bulk order from whichever company gives the best prices (I've found nearly a dozen suppliers, all at different prices at different quantities, and I do not know which would have the best prices for how much we'll order or which one is more dependable for the money saved, because this "rhinestoneguy"'s web site looks questionable, though it's cheapest. That was a mouthful.

So... anyone interested in hosting/partaking in a gargantuan order of swarovski flatback crystals? You know you love yer sparklies.
