Both of these corsets were completely a little while ago, but I didn't manage to take detailed photos until now.  The rhinestone corset is still a work in progress of sorts, but you get the idea.

The base is a peach silk dupioni with a partial overlay of fine chantilly lace by Solstiss.  It physically hurt to fork over the case, but it was so very worth it!  It's embellished with jet and "silk" Swarovski rhinstonesI'm currently building a matching posture coller/neck corset to wear to a fetish ball on the 20th.

For this rhinestone corset, I did interior casings instead of my usual exterior ones.  My first time having done this, I forgot to make the corset a couple of inches larger considering the hardware takes up room inside - oops!  I still think it's fine to wear, and will still fit as I lose weight.  Excuse the bra overlapping part of the corset in this shot!

Thank you! I couldn't *not* buy the lace, it was as though it stepped out of the vision I had for this piece. :)

Not a dumb question at all! They are actually glued on using special adhesive meant for stones.

Wow, thanks! I always view my thighs as my biggest "problem area" and now I'm blushing. :)

Which adhesive exactly did you use as all the ones I've used in the past haven't been too good even though they are designed for stones? You look stunning as does your corset. However long did it take you to glue all the stones on?

I used E-6000 for the chantilly corset and for the blue one I tried Aleene's Jewel-It for the first time. I didn't really like it and will try the E-6000 on the rest of the corset which only has the front half finished. So far I estimate I've spent 60-80 hours gluing.

Dam! Glued on!
Ive been eyeing up those kinds of beads (i cant spell swartz-what ever it is...)
and then i had a close look at the 4mm bi-cone and thought it would look a bit messy hand sewn as youd be able to see the thread?
:(

I should put a post up in Corsetmakers......

i agree with [info]minxymars! i laugh at the idea that you have any problem areas.

goodness gracious, how long did it take to affix all of those rhinestones? and where does one acquires pretty detachable garters? i can only find plain ones. did you make/modify them yourself?

Oh I do, but you've made me feel a million times better about them today! :)

It took between 60-80 hours to afix them all, and that's just the front half! An expensive venture this has proved to be. The garters I made from scratch, embellished with self-fabric and matching ribbon tabs.

How wonderfully delicious. I've always dreamed of doing a rhinestone corset. It seemed possible if I bought a nice brocade pattern and then followed the pattern with hot fix rhinestones. I could imagine some burnt fingers, lost eyesight (either from placement or blindness from the glitter!)

I sort of did that recently with a gold corset I made; I don't have any full on pictures of it yet in studio, but here are a couple:

Oh wow...I'm drooling over that peach lace corset. I love the delicate peach-and-black combo. It's antique, without trying too hard :)

Btw, I know that I keep flaking on the pictures--I'm sorry! I will post them at some point. I went to ren faire [dressed entirely wrong for the time period] in your bluejay corset, and had a great time [there's something gratifying about making men walk into trees]. I recieved one compliment--on your work as opposed to my corset-bound figure--that I had to pass on to you. There were a few corsetieres there who commented that it was one of the most well-made corsets that they have ever seen, and they were even more impressed that the fitting was done entirely via mockups.

(I also managed to close it completely--with help--and walk around in out for 6 hours fairly comfortably)

Thank you, I'm glad you like that first one. :)

I'm really glad to hear this feedback on your corset and can't wait to see pictures when you have them! I sent you an email a little while back and not sure you received it. Let me know, and I'll resend. Also eager to work on that skirt of yours, but don't want to cut your lovely fabric without having a firmer idea of what to do! If you're able to sketch at all, that might help as there are so many emails to go through to track down the info.

What a labor of love and it sure has paid off on both. I can't wait to see the blue one when it's finished. I'm not sure which one is my favorite.

If you get a chance, you should try out the hot fix ones. Tthere are a few different wands out there that are fairly inexpensive, quick to use with a great hold on the fabric.

that is the most beautiful thing i've ever set my eyes on --that rhinestone corset.

the lace one is so beautiful as well.
i love the way the lace lays on the bottom half - especcially in the back - the shape it makes is <3

just out of curiosity,
is the lace sewn down all over or is it just sewn on top and bottom and loose in the middle? ridic question, i know -- but i am not a sewer. i don't understand lace.

Thank you!

The lace was tacked on in the placement I wanted before I applied the binding. I believe if memory serves, I then went back and carefully stitched the lace in place at the edges. The rhinestones also help keep it from shifting as they are sprinkled all over.
