Reviews of Alter Ego Erotics?
I'm looking for a low cost black overbust corset with shoulder straps for occasional wear to fetish events. I'm not expecting great reduction and am not using it for tight lacing. I'm looking for reviews of fit and quality. I'm guessing they're somewhere between Victoria's Secret and Timeless Trends. I could wait and save my money for something nicer, but very few corsetmakers seem to make overbusts with shoulder straps, and I'm still stinging a little from a problem with Dark Garden. If I had a ton more money or at least didn't have pay cuts looming (I'm basically an employee from the state of California, for those of you following the budget meltdown over here) I'd try to wait and save, but it seems like Alter Ego might be nice enough to meet my current desires. (Can you tell I feel guilty at looking at cheap corsets?) Anyway, I was hoping that someone who owns an AE corset could give me an idea of what they're like. Thanks! |

~Blooddrop on Etsy~
Hello friends! I've been quiet here. Just busy and working. I have two lovely corsets that I put up in my Etsy shop. They really needs homes! They are beautiful and I just marked their prices down drastically. One is an overbust with a 30" waist and there is an amazing underbust with a 25" waist, but a slightly larger than usual underbust measurement. The overbust is great for "pear" figures and the underbust if great for "apple" figures. Or, perhaps I shall say "persimmon" for the sake of change! :} http://blooddrop.etsy.comBlooddrop still is not accepting new orders, but I hope you will keep me in mind for the future! Happy corsetting and tarting up, Astrid :} xoxox http://www.blooddrop.com |

Rarity for sale - 1880-1890 corset mannequin
Aloha! I'm still cleaning up my workspace, and I have come to the decision to let go of one of my "girls". She was born sometime between 1880 and 1890, or thereabout. I have talked in the past about selling her, and now is the time. I hardly ever use her. She is in 100% original condition, folks! She has never been restored, recovered, or any other nasty thing people do to antiques. *Never* fiddle-fart with antiques, because they greatly lose their value. The old girl is in fabulous shape. She came from Berlin, and survived several big-ass wars. Considering that, I think she looks quite fine, indeed. ( More photos behind the cut ) |

Burgundy Lolita Corset Dress I finished this corset a while back and I wanted to share. It is a lolita corset dress It is made out of a floral quilting fabric. And I love it. Floral fabrics are so lovely and I have a thing for burgundy, so combined it is just thé best. It has 21 pieces of steel boning. A flat steel bar in the center front and a mix of flat and spiral steels around. Two pieces grommets in the back. Interlined with coutil, and lined with a soft cotton lining. Trimmed with velvet ribbon. I posted more pictures in the livejournal of Skeletons in the Closet. |

Over the last couple of months I've been so busy with new Bride to Be's and making up orders (including maxi dresses for myself and some friends-pictures coming soon) that I've had hardly any time to make any samples. But finally this morning, I got pictures of my latest sample. Evelyn
Evelyn is made with a layer of English cotton coutil, a layer of medium weight calico (to support the silk) and a layer of handwoven silk dupioni. There are 20 spiral steel bones placed around the corset in a position that supports the fabric and structure, and aid in cinching comfortably. This corset is self bound in matching silk with matching silk facings and has a self silk modesty panel that can easily be removed if it is not required. It cinches between 2 and 6 inches and the length tucks away the love handles that some of us may have (raises hand). Corsetry laces in either black or white will be supplied with the corset, the corset laces at the back with 2-part grommets. This silk is available in 160 colours, which can be very difficult to translate over a monitor, but this one is "candy pink" and has pale blue flossing. I also have a special offer for those of you who like the Evelyn Corset. ( Follow meeee..... ) If you would like to discuss anything with me please feel free to e-mail me: eleanor(dot)dalton88(at)ntlworld(dot)com I'll be happy to answer any questions. |

New UK Corsetiere
This is a link to a website run by a friend of mine Larysa Kusak, who is starting up a new web emporium. (Clicky clicky on the picture)
I've not experienced her corsets, but she makes wonderful historic and fantasy costumes, and the website is worth looking at for the eyecandy. I particularly like her signature lace corsets which appear to be made with vintage lace. |

Maya Hansen?
Hello, everyone! Just a few quick questions :] Have any of you ordered from Maya Hansen before? How long does it usually take for her to respond to an inquiry? And how is the quality of her corsets? I sent her a message earlier this week and haven't heard back, and was wondering if it was normal for a response to take this long. She has some very beautiful designs and I am excited about placing an order with her :D Any information you all could provide would be fantastic. Thanks in advance! Current Mood: excited |
