If you're looking to buy an off-the-rack type corset, please visit ready_to_wear, a community specifically for selling those types of corsets.

Please note: The community mod has decided that Vollers' items - even custom-sized ones - may NOT be listed here. The mod has heard far too many complaints about poor quality and construction to allow them the 'high-end' label. Yes, that's arbitrary and high-handed, but this is NOT a democratic enclave. There is at least one other community - corsetry where your post will be welcome.

No posts that are not a buy/sell/seeking commission of corsets. If you want to complain about why you have to spend $300 on a hand-made, custom-fit item, do it in your journal. If you're wondering why corsets cost so much, read this.

All off-topic posts will be deleted by the moderator. The moderator is britgeekgrrl. Who gets to decide what's on topic? She does.

Play nice. If you can't be polite and get along, everyone involved in the spat will be banned from the comm. The mod doesn't care who started it, she'll just end it as quickly and finally as possible.

This community is a sibling to corsetmakers. As the name suggests, that community is all about making lovely corsets from all ages. If you would like to learn more about making a corset, that is the community for you. Please review the community's FAQ/memories before posting for the first time.

A Guide For Posting

If you wish to commission a corset, make a post with the following:
- What style of corset you're looking for (if you know what it is)
- What your deadline is for receiving the finished item
- Your geographic location and are how far you are willing to travel for fittings - if at all.
- What your proposed budget is - don't forget to note which currency. We've got global users, here.
- Any special considerations the corsetier might need to know (plus sized, back problems, you're an experienced tight-lacer, etc)
- Your preferred method for initial contact. We understand you might not want to put your email address here, but they've got to reach you somehow, even if it's just via an LJ comment at first.

If you wish to sell your work, post the following
- A picture of the item - Please put all pix after the first behind a cut tag!
- Details of the item's size, fabric and style. Differentiate between the size of the corset when "fully closed" and the ideal size of the wearer.
- Selling price - don't forget to note which currency (USD, Canadian $, Euros, etc) - and payment conditions (ie, "No paypal" or "checks must clear before shipping")
- Where you are and where you will ship to.
- Any interesting information about the item - sell, sell, sell!
- Your preferred method for initial contact. We understand you might not want to put your email address here, but they've got to reach you somehow, even if it's just via an LJ comment at first.

If you are a corset-maker looking for work
- A link to - or pictures of - your past work. Please put all pix after the first behind a cut tag!
- The styles in which you are willing to work
- Cost of your typical items
- Your typical turn-around time for a corset, start to finish.

- How far you are willing to travel to meet/fit a client
