Haha! I had a friend visit last night and we talked about all sorts of things but only made passing mention of Sylvia and her corset. (Sylvia is my dummy and she's currently wearing the first corset I made and some mini top-hats pinned to her shoulders.)
Said friend, however, made the fatal error of asking me this morning about corsetry and I got all carried away by all the new history and theories I'm learning! Bless, I don't think I was too boring!
A lot of my non-crafty friends do seem fascinated by this new skill I'm learning though. I think because corsets are so loaded with possible meaning. Has anyone else had this experience with their friends? I'm hoping that I can use some of my mates for practice in drafting and fitting, any advice or thoughts? Are friends too kind or too critical?!

Hey everyone!
I've got quite a plethora of really nice over-bust corsets, however I would like to add an under-bust or two to my collection. Anyone looking to sell? The more tight-lacing, the better, as I've been training. I'm currently a 28 1/2 " waist. Black or off-white preferred. I have etsy and ebay accounts to pay through paypal with reasonable shipping to the Chicagoland area.
If no one wants to sell, anyone know of some good sites that are inexpensive and good quality?
Help a lady out?

So... I'm supposed to do my first own corset ever. I already have one, a simple one, underbust, white, latex, big, normal. I was thinking about using it as model, but I can't do without a draft or a good self-explain model. Can you help me somehow? I'm really excited about doing that!

I got alot of mixed reviews on my previous post. So, if not alter ego, whom else might you recommend for a not too pricey corset? I want a strong corset that isn't going to bend or buckle and will hold me all in but don't want to spend more than $150 as my size will be changing :) It doesn't even have to be leather. Any ideas? Recommendations?

I'm a 6ft2 man, about 14 stone, hoping to find someone who'll make me a traditional lace-up corset.
I live near Cambridge and it would be nice if a corsetiere wasn't more than a couple of hours away (London would be fine) so I can get properly measured up.
Advice, offers or recommendations much appreciated.
